Check the first post.DOes someone know a list of companies that allow me to sell the license if needed?
Many of these libraries are only half price for a couple of weeks per year, which is why the second hand price can be similar. As a somewhat new member to the VI community, I have noticed something interesting: the prices on used libraries are.... kinda bonkers. On the big/known libraries, it barely reaches the sale prices. Is it not ironic that we accuse the companies for greed, while also assuming we can get almost full sale-price back on their products, second hand? This is just an observation and not meant as critique. Digital products don't age or wear down over time like physical goods. But buying a huge library on a BF sale, then reselling at basically no losses a few years later? That is usually not how the world works.
With that being said, I agree more/all of companies should allow it, at least once.
Altought AS authorize iLok license transfers, they can't do any product transfers from an AcousticSamples account to another : that means that the buyer will have to rely on the seller to get the library files he needsAnyone know if @AcousticsampleS allows license transfer?
I don't see any mention here: https://www.acousticsamples.net/terms_conditions
Is the default answer "yes" or "no" if not called out in EULA?
EDIT: I see some references to iLok, and some instances where this is on sale second hand. So that seems to answer!
I tried once, but never got a response. I wrote again after a few days, but again no response. I heard they "sometimes" grant it but I believe it's a case by case.Anyone here try to get permission to transfer Heavocity libraries? If so, were you granted permission?
That is how the world works yes. If someone is willing to pay and they need it now, then that is what the price is gonna be. Most of my guitarist friends can sell used stuff for profit, because for whatever reason these old guitars are apparently better than the new ones and rises in value all the time. Look at some old 70s/80s analog synths on eBay or Reverb. The prices are ridiculous, but people do pay that money. Difference with software is that it is directly available from the developers, so basically zero chance of resale profit when buying at full price. But if you buy on BF sale, then there's at least a whole year before the price will be the same (if at all) and if someone rally wants it cheaper than full price withing those 12 months between each BF, then they save money and you earn back your money. It works out for both the buyer and the seller. As long as the license doesn't "age" in any practical sense (like with Spectrasonics, where it can't be sold again), then every penny less than full price is penny saved, if you don't want to wait or take a chance that BF will provide a better dealAs a somewhat new member to the VI community, I have noticed something interesting: the prices on used libraries are.... kinda bonkers. I purchased a few heavyocity libraries at the last NKS sale.I tried once, but never got a response. I wrote again after a few days, but again no response. I heard they "sometimes" grant it but I believe it's a case by case.
Now what I'd like to know is - if I bought an Heavyocity library via Native Instruments (Damage 2), do the rules vary, then?
Anyone knows?
Thanks!
No, it's the same as before. Now that VSL and Stienberg have gone to iLok’s has there been any change to their resale policies?
I very much doubt that they can't be sold as many of their libraries are collaborations and I don't recall hearing any issues with them.Anyone know if Native Instruments allows license transfers for Lores and Fables? They were developed by/with EvolutionSeries, which I'd guess usually doesn't, but Lores is included in Komplete Collector's Addition, so perhaps they're treated like other Native Instruments instruments?
