I was playing with this all night! It's great and the UI really encourages creative experimentation.

A few suggestions for improvements though:-

- More delay types (dual/ping pong etc) for the Delay module. The Spread control isn't enough to dial in the perfect stereo effect.
- It would be nice if the Pitch control in the Delay module could do smaller increments. It defaults to semitones (displayed as 2.0, 3.0 etc), but there's no way to set smaller values (0.2, 2.4). Combined with the feedback control this would allow smoother pitch rises and falls, rather than rigid chromatic ones.
- The pre-delay in the Convolution module needs a time value.

Looks interesting but I have lots of reverbs. The thing that's interesting is the rhythmic element and the load-your-own-samples function.

But, you can also drag and drop samples into Ableton Live's Hybrid Reverb - 10 minutes of playing around has not produced anything interesting though. Either it sounds a bit like any other reverb or it sounds like playing back the sample through a slightly unappealing filter. Perhaps Heavyocity's version would be much better, but although product overview video shows that you can drop in files as IRs and offers advice on what sort of files work, we don't hear any examples.

Just noticed there's a trial version so I'll check it out.

This expressive designer tool redefines audio manipulation, allowing you to transport your sound to completely new and impossible spaces. More than just a delay and reverb effect, VAST provides intuitive controls, innovative impulses, unique rhythmic echoes, and unconventional effects for a true playground of creative experimentation

Curious to hear experiences from early adopters. There’s a demo available for download.

preset playthrough:

A decent price, but I honestly can't see how it would be any better than MConvolutionMB, which has more control than most people know what to do with.

Heavyocity doesn't allow license transfers for their Kontakt libraries, but does that also apply to their effects plugins? I'd assume so....

I remembered I got Punish Lite as a Plugin Boutique free-with-purchase a few years ago and never bothered registering it---registered it just now and got the discount code.

Genius! I too, after checking, have an unregistered version from Plugin Boutique. I like what I have been hearing with the demo, not 100% it adds something new, but definitely worth a couple of more days of trying it out.

Bit the bullet as soon as I got back from work. I love Heavyocity's products. Heavyocity's demo videos always have a way of tickling my curiosity.

As a game developer, I really appreciate No Commentary game playthroughs so I can listen to the game's soundscape.
As a game composer, tell me about it! I love to check out various games all the time for how the music is implemented, which role does it play and which events trigger it. Those no commentary gameplay videos are an invaluable resource to have, because I don't have the money, interest or time to play all those games myself just to check out something- and besides, if I'm actually playing, I can't concentrate (or rewind etc!) the technical side of things at all.

Besides, I often put no commentary gameplays for "background music" when I work on documentation or computer housekeeping. Some people prefer podcasts, I love stuff like for example this. :D

I rarely buy plugins now. I simply make fx chains on my own. But this one I bought instantly due to a rhythmic IR. I think it is a great tool for creating cinematic unobvious rhythmic gate-a-like fx backgrounds consistent with the main instrument. It has many ready to go rhythmic presets.
