Jaycen Joshua's The God Particle plug-in

And it’s totally fine when the limiter is off while mixing into? I think I would rather use another one when mastering.

How is the widening effect of god particle by default? I guess more widening is not really needed after?

I'm demoing TGP at the moment. I do compose, arrange, mix and master in the same DAW (Studio One) session. Even with only one instance of TGP on the mix bus this plugin leads to dropouts. Okay, I have several Vital instances in my current track. But it seem that I need to render the audio and use TGP only in a seprate mix session.

1. I would suggest keeping the limiter on when mixing and then disable it whenever you go to bounce the mix, but make sure you aren’t clipping the output before you do so

2. It’s good, you don’t need to use more widening afterwards

Why would you mix into the limiter?

Wouldn’t it throw everything off when take it off at the end?

The limiter is just there to keep the volume in check and not clip the output, and it gives you a general idea of what it’ll sound like after mastering, but it wouldn’t drastically change the sound of the mix when you turn it off to bounce it

Bought it - $79 - thought I might hate it but er... it's rather good. The stock settings are perfectly judged, which is what you are paying for really. Take off the limiter and it's an excellent starting point for mastering. This and the UA Sound City plug-in are making for a fun day.

Why are you taking the limiter off?
Even when you take another limiter after, couldn’t you just leave it on? Why not?

Do the lights for everything (level , lows , mids ) still work like when the limiter is on? Or is it throwing this off when the limiter is off?

How many questions do you have about this plugin?!

The God Particle is literally the most simple plugin ever made, put it on your mixbus and hit the targets. Nothing more, nothing less, that’s literally all there is to it

Because I use Pro-L to limit. I know it well and it provides a wealth of info that the GP does not. I trust it for final output.

Each section of the plug can be independently switched on and off. The limiter comes at the end and doesn't affect anything in front of it.

Don't overthink it. Just use the stock settings.

Sorry, another question:

Do you have TGP on when you start to produce a track already, or only later when you finally start mixing it?

Also; when you use EQ in mastering stage on the stereo bus: before or after TGP?
Match EQ for example.

Would you use it too on something like this:

Music with not much bass , no drums and a rapper on it.

If so how? With the targets I mean

I would use it on everything, there’s not a single thing I wouldn’t use it on lol
Agreed!

Purchased this over BF having been eyeing it for some time, tried it on a purely orchestral BBCSO, AR1F composition, at first wasn't convinced, watched a few videos, made some minor tweaks....AMAZING!!!

I always have the same issue when mixing in god particle; in the end I feel like my kick is too loud and I don’t know what to do, cause all other balances are great.

Any advice?

Are you adding it in after you do your mixing or do you have it on the mix bus before you start processing? The idea behind it is to do the former and letting it act as sort of a guide on your decisions versus adding it as a final step.

Before I start mixing, but I suck and learn how to mix over the last months.

But in the end I always realize it’s too loud, after hours of mixing and listening to it. Been like this for the last three mixes

As @KEM As already said, it's a superb plugin!

I also admit to having been very skeptical at first but after trying, it was adopted.

Here a test on the first few measures of "Harry Wondrous World" without then with TGP activated (an instance of TGP on the mix bus, default settings of the plugin). The volume was normalized.

Well this was on my Black Friday list. Here is Britten's Playful Pizzicato with VSL Synchron Strings Pro With and Without God.

Defaults all around.

Without

With

God makes everything better!
IMHO, much much preferred the without version. All the dynamics have been nuked at the beginning by TGP, Very nicely programmed by the way.
