With the upcoming release of our new flagship percussion library Lineage Percussion, we have decided to say goodbye to True Strike.

As a final farewell, True Strike will leave the store with a 30% discount until January 16.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported and used True Strike throughout the years. It's been a good run!

A new era of orchestral percussion is upon us...

man, this made feel old.

Until Cinematic Studio series percussion comes out this is the only perc library I'm using. Heck, I. know it so well, I might keep using it.

It seems odd to sunset a product so recently made into an "all-in-one" patch — not to mention that True Strike 2 never got the same treatment.

I'd be much more inclined to take advantage of this sale if I either (1) knew the contents of Lineage Percussion to be different or (2) had an assurance of a crossgrade / loyalty discount specifically for owning True Strike 1 v2 or (3) both. I expect I'm not alone here.

I have true strike(and TS2) and use it all times. It sounds well but lacks RRs in today's view.
looking forward to the new Lineage Percussion!
Good bye trus strike!(maybe will reborn in Free orchestra?)

Perhaps this is akin to Fracture Sounds retiring various libs, offering them at a discount, then incorporating them into a new, further reaching collection, and extending a discount to those who were all ready on board in some manner?
Lineage suggests continuation, but I am offering no more than idle, should have been in bed some time ago, speculation.

Based on the response in this thread, you would think that by retiring this product, it automatically gets deleted from everyone’s hard drive, who purchased it. Very weird.
It's more than that. I heard in a track many years ago that used TS's marimba, and I knew that I wanted it (it has this tight sound that other marimbas don't have). I was shocked when I was listening to demos & walkthroughs, and heard that exact same marimba I've wanted for so many years! If I happened to watch that walkthrough a week from now, I would be sorely disappointed. The fact that it will soon be gone for eternity is very bizarre, and a needless process for any company. Not to mention, this library was the most-used perc library by a musician I looked up to.

And of course, there's the obligatory 'I don't condone piracy, but" statement. Even if I had every marimba VST known to man, the fact that ProjectSam is actively preventing me from giving them money for this sound library that I'm intrigued by is also baffling to me (just an example, of course, but I know people who have had similar experiences). At least make it free if you're not making money on it! Is piracy really the morally wrong action if I can't buy the product anywhere?

I think it says something when we're viewing these little collections of samples in the same light as the media we compose for. Preservation is a topic that I think needs to be more commonplace outside of just film and video games.

Agreed.

It’s amazing no one at Project Sam thought, “Hey, do you think if we keep removing products from the store, people will be less inclined to buy from us?”

Some of us have the free sounds from Strike 1 and wanted to complete the collection but for example in my case I'm financially tapped out this month as I bought a lot of expensive tools for my regular job as well as typical "welcome to 2024" expenses.. 1-2 months or at least 1 typical pay period of notice would've been neat.

I wonder if this has something to do with the whole NI thing that's been going on.
