If u can only have one of them which one would it be?

Which one would be good for glue different libraries, cover all around mixing needs?
If it's really about mixing and positioning, too, and not just about reverb, there's yet another option for you:

If all you want is a generic reverb engine you should also consider this one, as it doesn't rely on convolution, but is fully algorithmic with a surprising amount of different colours in impeccable quality:

Rather than settle, wait and save, if at all possible.

I've purchased a LOT of reverbs (algo - I don't seem to like convo). I'd have been better off just saving up and getting Cinematic Rooms Pro during the yearly sale. If I could only have one reverb that would be it. It's better to have one tool you love - I'm assuming you've done the demo and love it, otherwise look elsewhere - than 12 you kinda like.

Caveat: I don't make orchestral music and think there's a lot of better reverbs out there for myself than Seventh Heaven Pro and Vintageverb.

Side note: Hans Zimmer likes and uses Cinematic Rooms Pro.

You write that you don't seem to like convo, but then you mention that you should buy Cinematic Rooms Pro.

I don't have Cinematic Rooms Pro, but isn't that heavily convo based?

Ik keep my life simple: 1) Spaces I ( or 2) as convo reverb for ER’s for the different sections ( it has specific IR’s for them)
2) Fabfilter R2 for my overall space.

The latter you can surely replace with Cinematic rooms.

As said by several, there is no 1 to rule all, but the best mix so far that has been used is a mix of good convolution and an algorithmic reverb. Best of both worlds.

Hi folks!
Im stuck about reverbs.I don’t have good reverb for glueing different libraries and mixing.
I have only blackhole reverb and its more like polishing reverb i think.I can buy only one Reverb plugin. My options are EW spaces2,Seventh heaven(not pro version) and Berlin Studio.I think Spaces and Berlin are convolution reverbs.Which one would be good for glue different libraries, cover all around mixing needs?
Also which one with i can do sound stage positioning properly?
Can i do all of them with Seventh Heaven?
I use mostly CSS,CSB,CSW,Stormdrum3,Requiem Choir from 8dio,Damage,Medieval Era2 and Talinn.
Thank you!
Thankfully, most plugins have demo periods. Try them all, see which one speaks to you personally for the ways you’re trying to use it.

Seventh Heaven is the only one on your list I’d consider a general purpose reverb since it’s a combination of convolution for the early reflections and algorithm for the tails. It’s not realistic and colors the sound, but it does this in a very pleasing manner.

Spaces 2 can be a bit more general purpose due to the variety of impulse responses on hand of not only venues, but also old hardware unit captures. I find it a bit too metallic and muddy for my tastes if there’s even a small amount of early reflections in your samples. Like Valhalla Room, you really have to bury the reverb in the mix to mask the metallic ringing, and at that point, why bother having it?

Berlin Studio is very purpose built for placing instruments into Teldex, but it does a phenomenal job of this task, and it’s a great sounding room. Probably the best option of these three if your primary use is putting dry instruments into the same hall.

Thanks a lot.I tried Berlin Studio a bit with cinematic studio series.I can have good results with strings(With Close and main mic blend as a main source) But with brass i tried lot of things but i can’t find the right spots and Mic configurations.I had problems with brass mostly to glue them with orchestra.I also have century brass but same like CSB;close mic sounds like almost synthy. When i use decca or main mics sound sits wrong places in mix.
I tried Berlin Studio with dry samples and its fit well but what about wet libraries?

How about SSL FlexVerb on sale for $18 right now.
Great sounding, but with a caveat: It seems to have the annoying habit of the tail of the verb narrowing to the middle while sacrificing the sides, and no apparent width control. There are solutions, but it basically requires another plugin (although a free one). Still trying to figure out if there's a solution within the reverb itself, but my feeble mind hasn't been able to get there yet.

Save yourself some money and get Melda's MReverbMB when it's on sale for half off. Sounds great. Multiband. TONS of control. Half off price will be around $26. Full price is around $53.

Yay! I've been waiting for days to see if someone would post a Melda reverb in this thread :elephant:

I got MReverbMB free on Pluginboutique a while ago, and once I'd got my head around the install procedure that - I admit - felt a bit like hacking Linux onto my Mac - I was very wowed by the sound. Such beautiful reverbs!

Nowadays I'm spoiled with MTurboReverb, which surely must be included in a list of "one reverb plugin to rule them all" - for that is the entire objective of it. If you get bored of the 100 included reverbs, heck, go behind the Edit button and start designing your own! Reverb heaven.

For those less adventurous, MTurboReverbLE would be quite sufficient as it includes all the algorithms it just won't let you design your own.

And ultimately, to go back to your suggestion, MReverbMB is a fine introduction to the wonderful world of Melda reverbs. Especially if you can find it for free!
