Facebook problem

I'm not sure if here is the right section for this but it's the closest I can find so please bear with me, or else move it to a more appropriate one.

I have been developing a promotion strategy for my music which involves, among other things, running Facebook ads. I had one ad running for a week when I suddenly started to get warning emails from FB saying that my content had gone against their standards etc. That didn't make any sense as my ad was really simple and innocuous, until I looked into my ad account and discovered someone else's Meta Pixel there alongside my own. Also some charges were incurred on my account which were definitely not due to my usage. So clearly my account had been hacked and the hacker had used it in a way which went against the Community Standards.

In the midst of trying to communicate with Meta about this (a fruitless task not for the faint-hearted), my account was suspended and when I appealed that, it was disabled. Just like that, with no explanation. So I have been unable to access it to seek help or to try and resolve the issue. I have no great attachment to FB and no love of social media generally but I do need to get back into my account in order to develop my ad campaign. I have of course scoured the net looking for solutions and tried all the automated 'help' avenues within FB but they all lead to the same dead end. I have also set up another account with a different email address just to try and communicate with them and to reach a human to discuss it if at all possible but so far no joy. I have sent a few messages through whatever avenues I can find but again have got no response, except the generic/automated one saying that they have already reviewed their decision and that I can no longer appeal it.

So I am wondering if anyone has any experience of this or has any suggestions on how to resolve it? Thanks.

I had a similar thing. I used my FB account in about 2019 to run an ad campaign. Then earlier this year I thought I would run another ad campaign. I logged in to my ad account and it had been restricted (I hadn't used it, and nobody else had either, no hack here). I appealed, then the automated system suspended my account. Like you I tried to reach out to FB, waste of time.

I went to fiverr and found someone who set me up with a new "aged" account. The person helped me verify and secure the account, they guided me when to take certain actions like adding payment details so that it didn't get auto shutdown.

The important thing is the account had been around for a while so when I took it over I had all the ad stuff enabled. I can recommend the fiverr person I used, just pm me.

I had this happen a few years back - hacked and used to run bogus ads which got the account banned. Apparently facebook's billions in revenue can't buy the common sense to realise a UK account being recovered, changing password, and suddenly setting up ads in Vietnamese might not be legitimate... (set up 2FA, people, sooner rather than later)

I went to have facebook delete all my data, and found that there was no way to do so with a banned account. I wound up contacting their data protection officer (or a title to that affect, can't remember exactly) to say that it was a breach of GDPR and that if they didn't delete all my data I would report it to their regulator. Miraculously, shortly afterwards my account was unbanned, and I have to assume that it was because of that.
