Hello dear VI-Control community and everyone around the world!

We are Joshua and Jorge from Wellencraft, our new sample library company. Our main motivation is to develop new virtual instruments influenced by our Colombian and Latin American roots, but also by the cultures of the world.

We are very excited and proud to present Tambora for Kontakt. For the first time in the history of sampling we have recorded the Tambora capturing its organic and authentic sound. The Tambora is a cylindrical bass drum of the north coast of Colombia, a region in the Caribbean and South America. We have designed this virtual instrument so that you can play it easily, offering multiple ways to use it.

  • Round Robins
  • Up to 6x dynamics with crossfade script between them

  • 80 Traditional Loops
  • 41 Sound Design Elements
  • 158 Grooves
  • Recorded with 7 microphones

Nice logo, nice trailer and nice sound. Good luck with project.

Could be interesting with some short documentaries of the instruments you pick up. Would also add to authenticity. Maybe too much asked but still ....

(btw, there's a great deal of bamboo instruments on Borneo, but its soon over, as all those cultures are about to vanish...or vanished, to be exact...)

Sounds good, the big booms and detailed ticks should make this very usable. Hopefully this is just the start of something big for y'all.
Thank you for your appreciation! This means a lot to us! There is a lot more to discover in Tambora, we will soon release a walkthrough explaining every feature of the instrument such as the ability to find your own sound inside the Tambora (e.g. membrane pitch among others). The "booms" belong to the Sound Design section and there is a lot to discover in the traditional section (Multisample articulations, Patterns & Loops and Grooves). We hope to bring out more details soon, but for now you can have a look at the website. Thank you for the good wishes!

Thank you for your kind words and good wishes! This means a lot to us! In fact you are not asking for much, we will publish some videos with the Tambora production process and accompanying musicological information material.
;) It will be some time before we can go to Borneo but in fact our motivation is to make known the typical music of these regions (Colombia and Latin America, including other cultures soon).

picked this up and I am immediately impressed with the sound and playability. Crystal clear and fun to play

That’s fantastic news! I’ve always admired your demos for among others VSL, and enjoyed your contributions on here. And yes I remember that chat! Congratulations on this new endeavour; your debut looks and sounds fan-tas-tic. I will head over to the website right now and hit the buy button.

Looking forward to what’s to come. Good luck chaps!
