I am compltely new to this. An old friend showed me his mixing desk wired up with Vienna and he explained it. I have been running a iMac 32gb with an RME and creating albums, but I have a lot of spare PC computers around, and this looked amazing. However most of my computers run old operating systems (deliberately). OS X Mavericks Cubase 7.5. and Windows 7 and XP, Could I run a system like this on those computers. I have some great 32bit samples from years back???? I really do not understand this at mo but looks very exciting.

Sorry, this is beyond me too. Hope someone understand what you are trying to achieve and has some tips!

It's technically possible to achieve what you are asking for, but you'd need to contact VSL to see if you can purchase/access an older version of Vienna Ensemble Pro. I believe you would need Version 5 (it is now up to 7).

An alternative would be audiogridder, but also those old operating systems are not supported (no idea if it can be installed, you could try). Maybe you have some space for a Linux partition on those old computers if you are comfortable with that.

Another alternative is Blue Cat Audio Connector. Also should not work on those old systems, but maybe the demo installs for some reason.

If you don't want to touch the old operating systems, you might be able to route audio/midi out from them and into your rme, but you might need specific cables/extra soundcards (check for driver compatibility) etc.
