THE visual sequencer I have waited for: Harmony Bloom

Sigh....as it seems I cant keep this one as my secret weapon it really deserves to be spread wide....

As I am absolutely the visual guy (and not the brain/node/abstract/theory....) I have always searched for a sequencer/arp/.... that reflects this, that I can simply SEE whats happening. And of course: randomizers galore :)

Seems my dream has finally come true with Harmony Bloom:

And apart from the general idea this has grown so quick with updates coming weekly (midi capture, velocity, probability.....) that I really recommend evryone in the "visual" corner to have a look on this one.

Reminds me a bit of a drum machine I had back when I was doing music stuff on ipad... had a big circle in the middle ahhhh that app was SO GOOD!

That looks like fun! I have been using twisted tools Nod-e. This looks very similar. Although this one looks more intuitive and controllable.

Patterning?

Patterning?

No - but that does look awesome - this was older, minimal graphics, white vectors on black background, had this dark, generative, euclidian, d&b magic... was so good. I did some googling no luck at all... maybe I imagined it :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.

Other than the visual aspect, I wonder how it fairs compared to Stepic? I have Stepic and absolutely don’t need another sequencer but this looks great.
I think if you know what to do with Stepic (and what Stepic is doing....) you are fine. For me it is really the aspect of "seeing what I am doing" and the absolute ease of use, all on one page, all randomizable.

But I am not sure where this will go, the devellopment in the short time it is available is absolutely amazing. And very responsive to user requests.

Can the bpm be set differently for each sequencer? That would be very unusual and interesting.

I dont think. Hard to explain, easier to tryout cause there you SEE what you are doing.

But as far as I get it it is ONE sequencer with lots of parameters you can set for this (number of notes, time for getting threw one turn, distance of notes etc.).

But Mario is aware of the thread so maybe he could say something more about it.

I am not sure what will happen if you just take two sequencers in line with different BPM settings ?

I don’t have it, but according to the manual, it seems the answer is yes. There is a Metronome button. If on, it syncs to the DAW; if it’s off you can set the bpm.

But its only ONE sequencer.....of course you can set this to any BPM you like, but not the different settings that go into that sequencer as far as I know (maybe I missunderstood something)

True. But for me, what makes this interesting is that you can load as many copies of Harmony Bloom in your DAW. That use is spotlighted on their site.

Of course, you can do that with any MIDI plugin, but it's especially useful with this one because the UI is so visual. You can see how they all interrelate at a glance. Plus, if you set it up in the right way, you can start all of them back at the beginning with a key on your MIDI controller.

I think it could be a very powerful drum sequencer, with different instruments on different instances. like a super-charged version of UVI's Percussion Factory. If I get this, I'd set up some templates in Unify. With one click I could have a whole set of them on my screen, all easily routed to different instruments.

As the developer is open to adding features, one thing that might be nice is to have a ratchet feature like those found in many of the Falcon sequencers. This could be set on or off with a probability setting.

Got you now . I have already used different instances on different tracks but all in sync to my daw and for different instruments, so this is definitely a new interesting approach.

From the website:
Sync DAW tempo or not
It can sync with your DAW bpm or not, ensuring what you generate always fits your project.

Now I'm trying to see if it can export the generated midi.

Is this placed as a MIDI Fx on the track? or, is this a synth that generates its own sounds? Is there a walkthrough video?
No real walkthrough video but really self explanatory mainly (choose presets, scale, click the randomizers and SEE whats happening).

As vst I load it as an instrument but that will depend on daw I think. As vst it does not have any sound (you have to load an instrument behind it - in my daw - or route to it on another channel) but the standalone version has some basic sounds (guitar, piano: under settings).

The midi capture added in the new update works great for me so it should work for you too

Hmm, so, unless I route it to another channel in my DAW (Logic) with a software instrument, I will not hear any sound

Is there a demo/free trial?

Thank you
