|I recently entrusted Dick Clarke of 'Violins Etc' with the appraisal and restoration of my fine old Italian violin, an instrument of some value, both temporal and sentimental, which I had owned and played since boyhood. It had lately suffered from inattention, and earlier naive repair had considerably reduced its value. All was taken care of, with due celerity, expert workmanship and friendly, efficient service, including hand porterage to and from their Budapest workshop. I am very pleased with the standard and cost of their work. The appearance, tone and value of my fiddle have been much enhanced, and I would have no hesitation in recommending the services of 'Violins Etc'...The Rt. Hon. the Lord Maclennan of Rogart, PC.|
|Recently i bought from Dick Clarke at violinsnet.biz a violin ascribed to Leandro Bisiach ,Milan 1899. The service from Dick during the purchase of this instrument was first class. Everything, from the set up of the instrument ,the packaging to Australia, the insurance etc was made very easy. |What a wonderful surprise to read your email this morning! We are on vacation in Florida until tomorrow when we will fly back to Houston. Thank you so much for finding a buyer for my violin. I have to admit that I am delighted that you sold my violin for me, and to someone who will enjoy it...Anne Hayman, Houston, Texas.|
|A couple of years ago I had the good fortune to meet Dick Clarke who came to look at a violin I had for sale...an afternoon was spent playing and swapping fiddles, but each time I went back to the Duncan. I already had a very good instrument and hadn’t considered a change until I played the Duncan. I had never played anything like it in my life! It was wonderful, really special, the character of the Gaelic airs I played that day was outstanding. To cut a long story short, I now own the fiddle. A number of top exponents of Scottish music have tried the fiddle and been more than impressed. Not only do I have a beautiful instrument but I also have an incredible piece of Scottish history in my hands....Joan Hutchison, Lochinver|
|Anyone with the name of Ian Brodie Grant, even if not a native-born Scot, deserves to have a fine Scottish violin to remind him of his ancestry. I found mine through Dick Clarke of Violins Etc, in the far north of Scotland. My dealings with Dick have been rewarding. Dick's service has been highly professional, accommodating , friendly and very helpful. It's been amazing to think how easy our transaction has been given that we are on opposite sides of the world. Dick's willingness to accommodate my method of purchase has meant that I have been able to buy a wonderful piece of Scottish musical history, which I would otherwise not have been able to. Thanks Violins Etc. The best of future success!...Ian Grant, NSW Australia|

|Hi Dick, a small note to give my heartfelt thanks for your repair work on my son's Baby Taylor acoustic guitar. When I first saw the damage to the soundboard and sides I thought that the cost of the repair would be more than the price of replacing the instrument. I was amazed and delighted when I saw your thorough and patient repair work. The guitar now plays as good as new.
Thanks also for your regular maintenance and setup work on my own guitars, it's reassuring to know that the instruments have optimum set up. Your secret formula instrument polish must also be mentioned, it gives an excellent finish and a lovely vintage aroma...Richard Wood, Caithness
|Dear Dick, I felt it appropriate to contact you on completing the purchase of the Robert Blaszaeur violin. Not only is it a fine instrument which I feel fortunate to have found but the ease with which you facilitated the home trial and the transaction was exemplary. Things could not have been easier or more amicable. It has been a pleasure doing business with you...Mr Ian Gardiner, Argyll|
|When looking for a fiddle to develop my playing, I came across Dick Clarke and his website, listing an interesting selection. Following initial contact about the Torquil Macleod, I found Dick was extremely helpful and able to give a good insight into the history of what I felt was an interesting Highland instrument.
After arranging a trial, I am happy to say that I now just need to learn to play it the way it should be.
Thanks again...Gus Mackenzie, Aviemore
