Waverunner Audio - OMNIS Everything Bundle

Yes, I just checked and my original order for what was then called “300” dates back to 13 February, 2022. It has been a while. At this point I feel some sort of actual timetable wouldn’t be an entirely unreasonable thing to ask for ;)

Edit: bought it way earlier even, the 2022 date mentioned was the last date I received a newly released instrument (Struttura).
I checked my e-mails and it looks like I purchased "300" on May 15th 2020.

I just hope he is ok and that he hasn't bitten off more than he can chew. But to be honest, I have basically given up on it and I see every new addition as an added bonus.
Yes, I share your worries for Ross. And I am a very happy camper with the instruments he did provide already, which are among my personal favourites and OMNIS as a deal has more than delivered. So I am not feeling entitled here, but I was kind of amazed by the 2020 order date, that’s all. And I do feel a bit of communication is warranted; let people know what they can still expect and more importantly: what they can realistically and reasonably still expect maybe? That said, Ross mate, more importantly than anything, I hope you’re ok.

I was just thinking about that back and forth legato example he posted. Primarily, I share the concern that Ross is Ok. I also agree that if what there is is all I will ever get, I will still be a very satisfied customer. But man I really want those repeated legatos, harmonic swells and spiccatos.

Obviously no-one wishes anything but the best for Ross personally (unless you're psychotic), but these are products we've paid for and have been expecting delivery of for what's approaching years now. I know Ross is apparently a one man team etc, but can you imagine if we all pre-ordered something from Spitfire and it still hadn't materialised 2 years down the line?

Ross, you seem like a really nice guy but I hope you improve your customer support. However busy things are over there at Waverunner, a few minutes should have been found by now to update paying customers.

I only say this because I love your libraries. If they were shite, I wouldn't care if they never saw the light of day!

BTW anyone managed to get the license for Frozen Piano from OMNI Bundle? I thought I had Frozen Piano installed but it seems it needs a license file I never received..! Tried writing to Waverunner support but never had an answer :(

Sorry everyone, it's been too long - wanted to make a video just to let you know what's been going on and what's coming up. Bit of a bumpy few years, nothing major but enough to chuck a spanner in the works for me grand plans.

TLDW: 300-come-OMNIS launched at a time of great excitement on the verge of massive sampling projects that fell through due to the pandemic. During that time things were a little rough personally and I didn't function too well. At times of perceived stability I'd jump back in but couldn't pull off what I set out to. Things are better and currently working on a re-launch end of November with a new website and the launch of the Alder Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass and take things from there. Trumpets, Solo Tuba coming; Alium, Synth Atlantic, Stak'd updates coming, new libraries including an exciting collaboration coming; relaunch of the free libraries coming, but all focus at present is on the Alder series and website relaunch.

The MacBook Pro will be ordered upon completion of the spaces so will be up-to-date. I'm wanting to move away from having sales and just having a set price ala ValhallaDSP ("Everything we make is always the same price - 24/7/365 - so you can always get it when you need it."). I'm not a fan of sales but it's a risky move, so that's a little side-update. So it's possible this will be the last sale (will certainly be the last giveaway of this calibre).

A sincere thank you for remarkable patience, understanding, concern and for your kind words on the libraries, and thank you for the nudge to say something. Catch you soon,

Ross

Thanks for the update Ross! And take care. Personally I think the Valhalla / Sean model is one that keeps everyone sane. Go for it! Much love, Temme ❤️

Hi Ross,

I’m happy to hear you’re doing OK,I want to go for the Omni deal actually I wanted to get this for quite a while. Am I safe in assuming that this will still be available through November? Money is tight I definitely want to take advantage of this incredible bundle offer but I have to look for some (hopefully legal)ways to get more money to make this purchase possible.
Thanks,
KG

Great to hear from you Ross. Good luck and super excited for the additional content on the Alder series. Those repeated legatos and spiccatos you posted sound fantastic.

Looking forward to the new site and new products!

I know it may suck from the point of view of an editor, but I would think twice about foregoing the sales game: on top of my mind, I can't think of anybody but Valhalla DSP that succeeded with a one-price policy.

Spectrasonics don't run sales either (I think), and they've sold one or two copies of omnisphere!

So far Soundpaint have not strayed too far off the “never sales” path they announced. Although lately I did notice a tendency to create bundles with slightly lower cumulative prices which of course does punish loyal “day 1” purchasers. Of course sister company 8Dio is sort of the worst example of how not to do sales, lol. No idea which strategy works better for them, both in the short and long run.

It can work, I think, so long as the developer is willing to live with relatively low sales volume (but greater regularity). And for an existing company it will take a fairly long time, likely two or more years before customers really believe there won't be any sales, so you likely have to weather even lower sales volume over that period.

Given that few companies follow this policy, I'm guessing that a strategy of sales produces better income over time even though that strategy also comes with the not insignificant costs of managing the sales. I also wonder if there is a basic difference between sample libraries and plugins that means their sales patterns are different.
