Just tried changing mute configuration on the fly in Studio One (Cup Mute Open - Closed - Open) and it works using CC32, which means I can use it in the piece I'm programming right now! Very cool - thanks again.
I've made a list based on this - it is attached as an excel file in a .zip.There's no list with bank/program numbers for each mute so you'll just have to experiment for now, but I'll consider adding one at a later date. You can also see the list Sordina is using here which might be useful. If I add new presets in the future they will go at the end of this list so that they don't mess up your existing projects.
The stereo image should be preserved, which DAW are you using and what is the routing setup?I'm liking the results from Sordina 2! I am noticing that the stereo image is being summed to mono - even when completely dry or deactivated. Disabling Sordina restores the stereo mix. Is this a limitation of Sordina 2 or a bug?
It looks like it's an issue with FL Studio 21.2.1 - I just tested in Cubase 12 and it's working fine! The stereo image should be preserved, which DAW are you using and what is the routing setup?
I'll ask on the HISE forum and see if this is a known issue and if there is a solution. FL studio is famous there for having unique issues. It looks like it's an issue with FL Studio 21.2.1 - I just tested in Cubase 12 and it's working fine!
Thanks for looking into that! Thankfully Cubase is my main DAW for orchestration. The mute options all sound amazing, well done!I'll ask on the HISE forum and see if this is a known issue and if there is a solution. FL studio is famous there for having unique issues. :D
Good question. Currently in Rhapsody you should see a download button next to any products that you haven't installed, or that you have already installed and has an update available. You can press the sync button in Rhapsody to check for updates, and it will do it automatically once a week. What I would like to add in the future is some kind of popup that gives a clear message about updates and the new features/fixes that are included.just a quick question, is there a way to be notified when a new Sordina 2 update is released?
In my youth playing 2nd bassoon, I had to play a bottom B ppp and I used a mute - best described of like a felt doughnut to go inside the very top of the bell. Don't know if it actually exists as a bassoon mute or not but it was certainly effective for the really low notes. How come there aren’t any (at least to my knowledge) any mutes for woodwinds. Except for saxophones that is
Thanks. I think I'm going to have to try this for myself. I'm not familiar with FL Studio, can you tell me about the track/routing setup you were using when you noticed the issue? Does FL Studio have different track types for mono and stereo?Windows 10, VST3
Thanks A lot David for your kind reply... I actually manually installed Sordina 2 so I guess there is no way to check for available updates until you add this to a future version.Good question. Sordina really sounds very nice and very useful. What is the verdict on sources that are not dry - sounds like some think that Synchron can work, but what about CSS or even Air libraries?Absolutely! Dry/close solo recordings are definitely the ideal source
As far as I know all mixer tracks are stereo unless otherwise modified with the stereo separation dial set to mono. I had Sordina loaded up as an "insert" effect (using Cubase language), tried both individual mixer channel FX and also Master track with the same results. I didn't try it as a send/aux but I noticed when playing with dry/wet there was a bit of phasing.Thanks. I think I'm going to have to try this for myself. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I wasn't aware the address fields are required by some card companies. My general approach is to collect only the user info that is absolutely necessary, so I removed all of the address fields (except country which I need for tax purposes). Some credit cards only work if the address data is correctly input. However, it may be the case that your billing platform doesn’t offer this functionality? I have a pending order placed before the sale’s cutoff date. Will customers like us still be able to settle the billing matter in the next 10 days or so? Could you keep those pending orders still at 44$ ? Fingers crossed
Someone reported good results here - https://vi-control.net/community/threads/vst-plugin-for-fake-sordino-sound.140660/#post-5358465Sordina really sounds very nice and very useful. I can confirm the issue on my system, which is good because it means I can test things until I find a solution.
