Not the business model for me.

Pay 5 quid a month, keep getting new instruments (including stuff from private collections for the first time), keep it forever even if you stop paying. Not sure what more you could want.

I think this subscription model is great. This money is also going to development of new products and other services for the community.

I have a moral dilemma with this,I really don’t like subscriptions and even though I have never watched a porn film from the 70’s
I absolutely love the glorious music!

I suspect it’ll be handled on the back end with a database. Users who subscribe will have instruments added to their customer record. If they need to redownload their products (from their subscribed vaults), they’ll be able to do that whenever they want.

However, if an item gets removed from availability over time, it won’t be accessible to new users who haven’t had it assigned to their account.

At least, that’s how I’d do it if I were managing the back end, so users always could access what they own, and have a downloader that allows customers to grab what they own at any time.

It’s a bit of a leap of faith to subscribe to something that doesn’t have a clear roadmap or transparent list of what to expect in the future (like quality or type of instrument). It sort of sounds like this is going to be a paid LABS-like product but I guess time will tell what’s up with the vaults concept.

I'm really enjoying Christian's return to the vlogosphere - and churning them out at that! Multiple new videos a week so far.

He’s excellent at making these sorts of videos. A very distinct style, engaging and informative.

From what I understand, nobody is really sure to understand.

Me for sure ! Crow Hill Vaults Beta.exe seems to run, but nada ....

One thing that is not clear for me - would all Crow Hill products be included in vaults (so I can buy them as a part of a subscription) or would products like Strings Murmurations be sold only for a full price?

Also, I noticed few small bugs:
1. When trying to edit effect values, I'm not automatically switched to a numeric value and instead I'm editing a description text.
2. When I assign a midi CC to any effect, its description changes to a number 0-100. This is OK to check whether mapping works correctly, but then when I move a control of any other (already mapped) effect via a controller, its description changes to a number too, so unless I click on the effect directly, I can't see descriptions, but only numbers.
