Legato Update for Berlin Strings (2024)

I saw the emails for this Berlin update and the Spitfire Soaring Legato release about the same time, nice!

I guess January 11th is officially Legato Day on VI-C.

Hey @Ben, anything cooking in the Dev room at VSL in regards to Legato improvements? If not, tell 'em the new deadline is 1/11/2025. Wait, they're in Germany, make that 11/1/2025. DD/MM/YYYY format.

I'm testing now. There were a few bumps that I didn't like at slower speeds and they seem to be gone. But beware of one thing: if you have BS (or any Sine lib) in your template, you'll need to reload each patch as for some reason, it will keep the previous version if you don't.
As another user suggested, this is not what OT has advised would occur. They’ve suggested that templates would automatically update (which, given how complex the BS part of my template is I was actually grateful for!) so I’m looking forward to more user reports…

And there it is! Only 2:49 into the video, first improvement made, LEGATOS in the Smart Orchestra Woodwinds.

I think it's official: January 11th is VI-C Legato Day around the world. Somebody get Merch going.

Can you give me 6 random numbers? why? no reason at all...no reason at all...........

SINE has been a pain, i still wasn't able to download the update...various errors and need to delete stuff manually multiple times.....and this is not something that happened only for the update...i literally got Berlin Strings before xmas and i had the same problems dowloading it.....so....is anyone got any test runs for the update yet?

I've downloaded updates for Sine and libraries a lot of times. All fine.

I just finished downloading and found that the Basses Accent Sustain patches do not loop properly. They keep playing the attack of the note with each loop. I cannot check that, but I suppose that is not how it used to behave. Can anyone confirm this? In case you did not update yet, did the previous version also do that?

But beware of one thing: if you have BS (or any Sine lib) in your template, you'll need to reload each patch as for some reason, it will keep the previous version if you don't.

But how is that even possible? Any update replaces the files of the previous installation. So, when you load an olde project with certain Sine patches, it could not load the samples of the older version, as these are deleted (unless you saved a backup of the old version). Or do you rather mean it loads the data part of the older version saved with the project? But then it would still have to load the new samples, right? I have no idea what parts of the patch gets saved with a project ... In Kontakt it would probably be the script and all the instrument setting - everything except for the samples themselves, right?
