While other free libraries chase their tails, Snack really delivers. I have to hand it to Soundiron that this comes with a great UI and includes a Native Instruments license (which some of my paid Kontakt libs don't have)!NIMO! The Ambiances are terrific.
Here’s another free one from The Home Recording Studio:
Rubber Bridge Guitar.
Don’t know if there are any other free Rubber Bridge Guitar Kontakt instruments around? Useful if you need “that” sound!
That’s not good! I’ll comment on the Video, so hopefully it will be fixed. It asks you to subscribe to his newsletter and confirm your email to get the free guitar, but clicking on the link in the email to confirm the subscription takes you to a ConvertKit log in / create an account page. I tried creating a ConvertKit account and confirming that too, still no guitar freebie....
Edit: Just to advise that the Rubber Bridge Guitar download link did eventually arrive, without the need to create a ConvertKit account! It asks you to subscribe to his newsletter and confirm your email to get the free guitar, but clicking on the link in the email to confirm the subscription takes you to a ConvertKit log in / create an account page. Please don't get me wrong; I like cats very much. However, I have four dachshunds.Gimmick?
I'll have you know that meow, meow meow meow, meow, meow, MEOW!
Good day, sir.
Orange Tree has one: https://www.orangetreesamples.com/products/evolution-rubber-bridgeThe Rubber Bridge guitar is an amazing freebie. Make sure to check out the snapshots. This is the only VI I know of that can give you Aaron Dessner's (of The National) guitar sound on Taylor Swift's "Folklore" and "Evermore" albums, as well as Phoebe Bridgers and others. Anybody know if something else exists?
I hope one of our VIC developers will take a shot at this increasingly desirable sound in today's pop music. @tcollins ? @DSmolken ?
Oooh, really like that one. Being able to crank the reverb time very high makes this a very capable freebie. Clean solos are one thing, you can also stick it before a cranked amp sim and set a high decay time for a total wall of noise. For anyone wanting a great spring reverb, Klanghelm's free Tens Jr is worth the d/l imo. They modeled studio springs (never knew there were such things) and imo it sounds between a decent guitar amp spring and a studio plate. Works really well for clean electric guitar solos. Pretty much blows away my amps' hardware tanks.
I passed on Tens when I came across it, because I'd not long picked up Boz ReCoil, and thought that I had all my Spring needs covered, but damn that is a nice freebie. I've even had to add Tens to my "need, but not immediately" list, and that's pretty damn short these days! For anyone wanting a great spring reverb, Klanghelm's free Tens Jr is worth the d/l imo. Same here for the same reasons. The BOZ is decent, but imo the Klanghelm is nothing short of magnificent. I went ahead and bought the full version of it. Very good price...basically always on sale commensurate with Waves sale pricing. BTW, I spent some time with the other freebies and they're all very good imo. Quality level reminds me of Tokyo Dawn which is to say high.I passed on Tens when I came across it, because I'd not long picked up Boz ReCoil, and thought that I had all my Spring needs covered, but damn that is a nice freebie. Somebody on Gearspace said the paid version is their favorite Distressor emulation (from the thread "Best Distressor plugin in 2023 to substitute the hardware?"): "Kiive Xtressor, UAD, and FG-Stress all sound great and do a phenomenal job emulating the real deal.Kiive just released this nice freebie: the XTMax compressor

Eddie @Kiive Audio is an amazingly talented developer and a really nice DUDE!Somebody on Gearspace said the paid version is their favorite Distressor emulation (from the thread "Best Distressor plugin in 2023 to substitute the hardware?"): "Kiive Xtressor, UAD, and FG-Stress all sound great and do a phenomenal job emulating the real deal.
Demo them and pick the one that best matches your workflow.
Personally, I prefer Kiive — no UAD DSP needed, and no Slate VMR plugin wrapper to worry about."

So, I'm really thinking about trading my analogue 'Distressor EL8X' with another piece of gear and substituting it with a Distressor plugin instead, going ITB. Since this is one of my favourite OTB compressors, I would really like to get a plugigearspace.com
