CSS: Elegantly Switching Legato to Non-Legato?

Apparently I was mistaken... I've tried adding 6 patches of Light and Sound Violin1 and everytime I added one it used more RAM :(
Are you sure about this? I'm pretty sure the RAM usage in Kontakt doesn't stack up with multiple identical instruments being loaded. I can check later today, but AFAIR from my latest template overhaul it doesn't. At least not with Cinematic Studio Series.

Well that was a post from 4 years ago, it's quite possible things have changed.

Been using Babylon Waves excellent Art Conductor for expression map duties, and it works brilliantly apart from that Legato on-off thing (all the other options and articulations are perfectly catered for, and I'm sure I must be overlooking something). So, has anyone found a more precise and fluid way of turning legato on-off?

I use a key switch for the legato only.

G#0 with velocity 120 activates legato
G#0 with velocity 1 deactivates legato

Same works with con sordino and B0

I guess that will be the only way. I was trying to create a cc lane for cc58, like the others in cubase for expression, dynamics and vibrato, but that isn’t working. The only thing that bothers me is the use of keyswitches kind of disrupts the workflow (using a note rather than pure midi controller data), so if I end up transposing a piece I have to review all the places where keyswitching was happening

Oh sorry, I thought you use the expression maps in cubase.
I think keyswitches are a pain anyway. In S1 the Sound variations or the Expression maps in Cubase are the cleanest solution for me.

No, I do use expression maps, the ArtConductor ones! The CC lanes I’m referring to are the ones for dynamic, expression and vibrato. Later I can show you a picture of my usual setup (I have several presets in the key editor for showing different stuff in the cc lanes)

@MikeT99
I probably could make a variation that doesn't take Con Sordino into account and instead send G#0 when appropriate. Honestly, I don't 100% understand what problem would be solved - I'm not really using CSS for years for my compositions. So, feel free to contact me through the contact button on our website and fill me in.

Wow, thank you very much! I somehow managed to tweak the expression map files, and added some options to have both options (with or without legato) in the relevant articulations. But really really thank you, great support! If you don't mind me asking, and just out of curiosity, what libraries do you prefer nowadays?
