Performance Samples discussion thread

According to the description of the video Jasper uploaded yesterday there are indeed velocity based legato types. I'm not sure how many there are but this is very cool to hear. Still no idea about the dynamic layers thing though.

Its a shame Pacific Ensemble Strings didn't sample both slurred and portamento transitions with a velocity switch.

I do like that capability as it allows you too add a bit more variation/expression.

Well, Pacific Ensemble Strings would probably have been much more expensive. I think it is just perfect as it is.

I assume that Vista II will cover these legato finesses, among other things, and will therefore be a good deal more expensive.

Very wide vibrato on that last demo I feel. Probably suited for this style:

Slow and romantic? Reps sound decent. Shorts sounded more rounded. That said, pretty much all the libraries lean toward a more pronounced, romantic style. Vista 2 sounds pretty great with all the additions I've seen. Still waiting patiently for more info on Voyage. Seems to be the one that will have a bit of everything and more suited for general usage. Fingers crossed.

I have found that developing a (very) basic grasp of Quantum Physics has helped me while waiting for the next PS release.

As Heisenberg's uncertainty principle shows us, the more certain we are of a given library's current position (e.g. where it is in development), the less certain we can be of it's momentum (e.g. how soon will it be here).

When Hawking proposed the Black hole information paradox, I had no idea that meant throw the Calendar in and wait.

Who knows? Maybe the holographic principle is right and we'll eventually read the info on the surface. The Black Hole Billboard...A new marketing campaign
