I want THIS Steinway sound

Totally unrelated to this thread... ;). What do you think of the RHIII action on the ES920?
I like it. It took a little adjusting to having come from using a Yamaha CP4 Stage keyboard for 8 or so years. Both have triple-sensor weighted actions. Overall it's not as "precise" as the action in the CP4 Stage, but I find I can control the lower end of dynamics better, which is important to be. I can be more subtle with it.

I was considering a Kawai VPC-1, but the weight and extra cost put me off. I appreciate having some good quality built-in speakers for when I want to go without the computer, or quickly getting down an idea using the built in recorder. I also teach a piano student weekly, so it comes in handy then as well in tandem with my acoustic upright. Also, you can split the ES-920 keyboard in half and duplicate the same note ranges either side.

Overall a high quality instrument and a solid purchase. 5 year warranty too. This is worth checking out – helped me to decide which way to go:

Yeah Stu is the bomb. Love watching the videos on that channel.

Here's a few more VSL that I don't think have been represented yet. I think the Fazioli is most in its element here.

Thanks, you beat me to it. Man this thread grew fast. I liked the Fazioli better of these renders.

Hi @mducharme ! I only have the 280VC (pro version) not the Imperial

Thank you, I watched a few videos reviewing this piano last night. I cued it to the passage I'm highlighting. Listen here at the "Grand Piano A Complete." Something isn't right? A reverb setting maybe?

Sounds fine to me. What are you noticing specifically?

Yes, this is a tough one to pull off convincing with a sampled piano. This was using the Xperimenta PF2 Fazioli F-278, with a mix weighted towards the room & mid mics, and reverb through Valhalla Room 2.0

Happy to share my settings if anyone is interested.
This one? That bass is to die for... But only for Kontakt full. Resource-wise? Did I ask already? o_O

I did not know Valhalla had updated Room, now with a low cut. :) I'll have to get that update.

Now I'm trying to decide, before the sale ends today:
CFX Lite (24.5 GB - Aria? - $109 CAD) vs PF2 (22 GB - Kontakt Full - $85 CAD).

How do you find Aria as a player?

Aria has been very solid for me - efficient and stable. I use it for the Garritan CFX full edition, the Garritan GPO 5 instruments and an early Sforzando edition of Production Voices Production Grand C7 (modern mics).
