Update info for owners of the Pearl Concert Grand

So I stumble across this page after being fooled into buying this piano plugin. The developer puts out a product that they know has an issue and never mentions it anywhere on the website. Then comments on this page like "oh we tried ...sorry about that" type of an attitude. That is inexcusable. Not to mention some of the bass notes have been horribly sampled! Pretty much the whole octave of c2 to c3 sounds more like a bass guitar than a piano. This is such a shame as the rest of the piano has some fine sampling. If I wanted to have to tweak things and experiment there are plenty of other free plugins I can do that with. That is not what I payed money for though. So if you don't mind having to waste your time processing and tweaking things that shouldn't have to be tweaked then you will be ok, but I expect better than this. Time is too valuable to waste on creating "work arounds".
If you are the same customer who emailed us, per my email I am happy to grant a refund if you feel the library is unusable. Our demos & videos DO use the hall mics - just turned down - and the other three positions do not have any issues whatsoever.

Even without any electrical noise, to be clear, I wouldn't recommend cranking the hall mics all the way up because they are very distant from the piano. It simply doesn't make sense from a mixing perspective to do that. I prefer having the close & stage mics loudest and the hall mics in the -30db range.

Happy to report Andrew from Impact soundworks contacted me and we were able to work out our differences over the software. Something I didn't expect because in this day and age too many people do not stand behind their work. So I give an A+ to the customer service at Impact Soundworks!!

I think you will find that Impact Soundworks is a great company with really helpful people and, overall, very high quality products. Pearl Concert Grand from my understanding is one of their oldest libraries. I wish it had 1 or 2 more velocity layers on the louder side of things (the jump to the top layer sometimes feels very sudden) and of course the noise issue has been discussed throughout this thread already. Last year I offered to clean up the noise from the distant mic position if a fair price can be agreed upon and that offer is still on the table. However regardless of this I still would be surprised if someone wanted to keep this mic position turned up too high, it's meant primarily to give a background ambience as far as I can tell.

Yes background ambiance is what the mics were for...I wanted it to be a noise free in case I ever wanted an unusual effect . Also I just want everything to work when I am paying for it. I was quite surprised Impact Soundworks were willing to work with me on this. These days it is not common for companies to stand behind their product so this was refreshing!
