Articulations: MIDI channels versus keyswitches

Program changes are good if you don't plan on any live switching on your keyboard. Notes are good unless you run out of free space, which rarely happens. On top of that, in many DAWs, you can assign notes/PG on a per-articulation basis. It's all basic stuff, and many personal preferences are involved. Why don't you try out what works for you?
 
I go with articulation tracks all the way now. If you can afford the computational power, it is much easier to mix. I've only worked with a handful of VIs but in all cases the different articulations need different levels in the mix.
