Well if we’re talking pharmaceuticals you couldn’t be more wrong!I can't in good conscience counsel anyone to buy more plugins. You don't want pharmaceutical advice from a using drug addict.

Well, I suppose that in the case of pharmaceuticals, when you buy them you actually do use them...Well if we’re talking pharmaceuticals you couldn’t be more wrong!
Please let’s try to avoid delving into sacred topics.Well, I suppose that in the case of pharmaceuticals, when you buy them you actually do use them...
Spot on !The shame...
Shouldn't you be saving money on plugins to buy more hardware effects for Deep Mind, anyway? You can get some nice saturation/distortion pedals with real valves/tubes in them - although, admittedly, stereo options are thin on the ground and more expensive.

Pianists especially must find moving to synths frustrating. The very keys act differently. The dynamic ranges are different, if there is any. And polyphony... Keep on hanging in there, though; you may find the limitations help you to focus on things that the Prophet 5 does well.Spot on !
UAFX _ Del-Verb recently, Astra just arrived. Pricey, yet worth it so far. Android UAFX Control App is quite cool. May be set for a bit ....![]()
Sooooo long as pianist, organist, keyboardist, Prophet 5 polyphony is much tougher to adjust than imagined.Deepmind 12 is comparatively easy. Have both pedals cabled to switch easily. Both are complemented notably by UAFX !
Kinda shows lack of sophistication, as Prophet 5 is not yet providing stimulation expected. Analog monosynth would likely make me nutz ! Just under $ 1K to get Expansion Board to raise Prophet 5 to Prophet 10. In retrospect, better choice may have been single purchase of Sequential Prophet Rev 2 16-Voice. No stress or rush. Lotsa time to learn, enjoy, sort things later.
This synth diversion has forced major refocus on chord progression chops. Not as spiffy now as believed.Pianists especially must find moving to synths frustrating. The very keys act differently. I'm sure those are terrific pedals. Nice choices, and they should be a lot of fun and sound a lot better than going for cheaper options. (That isn't always true, but I'm fairly confident in UA's ability to turn out nice sounding effects.)

It sounds like you are in a good place to me. If you are finding weaknesses, that's a good thing to work on. Although I say that as someone who is riddled with musical weaknesses! Sometimes you have to accept that you have limitations that aren't worth the work it would take to overcome them. I often play quite fast on the guitar, but I never thought it was worth the effort to learn to play really fast; I preferred to spend the time I had working on other things. (That's probably my least embarrassing musical weakness!)This synth diversion has forced major refocus on chord progression chops. Not as spiffy now as believed.
UA /Eventide FX promo deals got me too (for DAW). Brigade Chorus, TriceraChorus. Bonus $25. for > $100. GAS-sed me into Waterfall B3 Organ. You & kgd convinced I'm good with saturation for now.
THX for encouragement, offsetting slings and arrows from afar !![]()
Then there's Marcin Patrzalek ........ and a few notorious others. Good to hear you play at that level ! Agree, there is always temptation to gain capability in some direction ...... yet some are far more challenging to each player than others. It sounds like you are in a good place to me. Would be really cool to have someone, like you, to accompany my live play .... just relaxed, no pressure, enjoy. Not a strong improvisor, and that is a tough one, on my side.

Pharmaceuticals not big here, unless we're talking mushrooms .....![]()
Made this last night on the fly playing through the SE-100. Quick phone recording but you can still get the tone of it. Only a touch of EQ and delay after the amp sim.My current favorite amp sim is the Friedman BE-100. Some very nice classic crunch-distortion tones to be had there.... Worth a demo
EDIT: OOOPS. I meant to say the Suhr SE-100. Similar interface...

There are some deals going now, but with the monthly vouchers disabled for the rest of the year, the deals are less attractive, IMHO. I received the email below from PA on Oct 23 outlining upcoming changes to the monthly loyalty vouchers:I hope there's going to be some decent deals for PA this month. Discussion has been utterly dead these last few months. And so have the cool deals been. So sad.
Minimum spends
Starting November 1, 2023, Plugin Alliance will make the following changes to the minimum spend of Monthly Loyalty vouchers:
Vouchers paused for November & December
- $25 vouchers will require a minimum spend of $40
- $50 vouchers will require a minimum spend of $80
- $75 vouchers will require a minimum spend of $125
New exciting offers and releases are on their way to sweeten the end of your year. To make these fantastic deals possible, vouchers will be paused in November and December.
These adjustments allow PA to continue offering new deals and benefits long term. Thank you for your loyalty.
Yeah, sadly none of the items left on my wishlist are anywhere close to a price I would consider committing for. These deals definitely aren't great. There are some deals going now, but with the monthly vouchers disabled for the rest of the year, the deals are less attractive, IMHO. I wonder about that. Waves has managed to sell all of their plugins for $30 dollars for ages. Their complete packs add up to even cheaper than that. Now, I don't particularly want that if it means subscription-based upgrades and I'm also not looking for the old $18 PA-Poker opportunities, but these $40-50 'deals' based on hyperinflated prices really aren't doing it when you look at the rest of the market.Unfortunately, their great deals aren't really sustainable for long term growth. Hopefully, they can find a sweet spot like Waves did.
