Discussion Thread for Plugin Alliance Daily Deal Products2

When they say uninstall, I don't think that can be done from within native access. They mean just going through your various folders and deleting plugins manually.

A bigger issue for me was how to activate plugins that you might already have installed and that doesn't seem to be possible either from Native Access.

I had all of my NI plugins on an external drive and the only options available in native access was reinstall, so that's what I did. I downloaded the entire Komplete for the second time in a few weeks. Lucky for me that I have fairly decent internet.
On Windows at least you can uninstall using the Control Panel -> Programs -> Uninstall a program, all the NI stuff is listed there to uninstall.

Agree that the PA installation manager is incredibly easy and efficient. The gold standard of plugin installation imho. I could literally install and register a plugin in under a minute, with no confusion. But NA isn't THAT bad. It's not like we're talking about the IK Product Manager: "Clear my calendar and have my meals sent to my room, I'M ABOUT TO INSTALL THIS COMPRESSOR!!"

Only current tempting choice is bx_masterdesk PRO upgrade/crossgrade for $55. (with Loyalty -$25.).
( assuming NI adoption offers little chance of additional decrease )
🤷🏻‍♂️

Using earlier version, and trial PRO additions are notable .... imho

Same here :). To be honest the bx_masterdesk (think I have the version before pro) is the only PA plugin (and GAS makes me buy a lot, sigh....) that makes it into evry master chain so far.....was hoping for the 29 someday, but now.....

Sorry but NA is extremely bad.

It took almost a decade to fix well known bugs and I'd be surprised if sone don't linger.

Issues still happen regularly.

There still isn't a Relocate all in NA 3.

I'm so not looking forward to it replacing PA & iZotope installers.

Best: Skin the PA installer with NI.
Second : Skin the IZT installer, make it a bit better at installing multiple products sequentailly.
Third: Type the programs code in manually while Trump and Kim Jong Un lapdance for you.
Worst: Hope Native Asskiss will not only acknowledge your entire collection, but also believe that there is enough space to install to it and then not get confused, forget what it's purpose is and start mooning over the fact that the Arturia installer never returns his calls.

Am I missing a trick with the PA installation Manager? I have always seen it as one of the most useless pieces of software. It does not keep track of what is on my system, so it cannot tell me when it is time to update a particular plugin. I tried doing a monthly update where I just reinstall everything I own... That takes forever and it randomly misses plugins! Some PA plugins are simply not available via the PA Installation Manager, and others that are available don't always get selected when I click "My Products". It requires me to go through my list of 143 PA plugins 1-by-1 to track down missing plugins for manual download/installation after the PA Installation Manager does its thing. Really tedious.

The iZotope and Toontrack installation managers have always worked well for me; they know what is on my system and what requires updating. They do the job efficiently and clean up after themselves. Even Native Access has been fine, but my experience with it only goes back ~3 years.

Not a fan of the PA installer either. To be fair, very few developers ever get them just right. The only one I can think of ticks all the boxes is the one from XLN Audio. It performs an update scan every time it starts up, tells you if anything needs updating, download is fast, it installs things quickly in whichever directory you want. IZotope annd Toontrack are pretty good too, though I'm not a big fan of how iZotope keeps asking if you want an easy or custom installation every single time when it could just remember your past settings and stop asking everytime qhere to install the VST files.

Looptrotter - SA2RATE2 is 'net' $24.99 with Jun Loyalty $25. Code. Not bad to have several Saturation options ?? Have Trial now. Any delighted /disgusted users who will add a few words ??

Otherwise, likely jumping on bx_Masterdesk PRO upgrade, for another 30 peseta(s).

I am both delighted and disgusted. In equal measure. But I've never used SA2RATE2, I'm afraid.

Well .... Softube - Harmonics in PB Cart for $39. Maybe not so scary !! 👻
I haven't used that either! But I'm confident that SA22RATE2 and Harmonics are solid choices, based on other people's reports.

Maybe I need to up my saturation game!

Neold - Yes / embarassed Kazrog - No 😳 Have all Thermioniks, KClip3, True Iron Demo. Positive vibes, just never added .......... (only $33. today !)
The shame...

Shouldn't you be saving money on plugins to buy more hardware effects for Deep Mind, anyway? You can get some nice saturation/distortion pedals with real valves/tubes in them - although, admittedly, stereo options are thin on the ground and more expensive.

Well here we are,I’m truly disgusted, you’re embarrassed meanwhile Kazrog is currently having a sale on True Iron. My opinion if you have True Iron and Big Al you’re probably covered.

fwiw Bee Mactm is an expert when it comes to shame.

It is true that True Iron has several options that I can't tell the difference between. They are all different, but I can barely judge between them.

Big Al, however, has a distinctive and completely wonderful sound, to my my ears and tastes. But it won't be for everyone, or for every circumstance.

For my drummers ears and delusional mind Big Al is awesome and True Iron while being a bit more subtle is extremely effective on multiple channels.

I'm in the same boat. I love Big Al and have used it a lot. True Iron is more versatile, with higher and lower saturation options and a range of emulations, and can be used for a lot of purposes.

I can't in good conscience counsel anyone to buy more plugins. You don't want pharmaceutical advice from a using drug addict.

SA2RATE2 is quite subtle, generally, yet not objectionable. Agree re. Big AL.
No worries with True Iron @ $33.. Remain interested in Softube Harmonics @ PB promo $39. 🤷🏻‍♂️
