I felt like it could get even cheaper after these xmas bundles ends up. It's cheaper but price is bigger. More money spent = still more money spent. Now it's getting tempting thought. The strings bundle and the choir bundle from before weren't cheap enough....
Just ask support. That way i got silka for $30 with their last bundleThe new 5 Choir UltraBundle... I am missing Lacrimosa choir only.
Unfortunately they don't allow to pay only the difference for the product you don't own when buying a bundle otherwise I would pay just $39.5 for Lacrimosa only , that is the price for each choir in the bundle.
I asked to get Silka during their last bundle sale too. My request was denied. I was told support wasn't supposed have done bundle upgrades and won't be doing them going forward.Just ask support. That way i got silka for $30 with their last bundle
I understand their reasoning as they need to pay the bills to keep the lights on but from a consumer perspective this kills motivation for individual product purchases. Seems to be an unfortunate downward spiral here, not sure how they pull themselves out of it.I asked to get Silka during their last bundle sale too. My request was denied. They have stated many times they plan on porting their entire library into Soundpaint. They are making progress in this. Soundpaint has a much lower price per library. My opinion is, their plan is to sell their Kontakt libraries at huge discounts as a way to get people in their system and then sell crossgrades to the soundpaint versions.I understand their reasoning as they need to pay the bills to keep the lights on but from a consumer perspective this kills motivation for individual product purchases. True, but why are Soundpaint libraries so much cheaper? Obviously it's because the original recordings are done and paid for. They have stated many times they plan on porting their entire library into Soundpaint. They are making progress in this. I think their collaborators series are instruments unique to Soundpaint that have not been used in 8dio libraries before. I might be wrong, but I think they recorded new samples for their Deep Quintet Strings that came out two years ago. They do have a big library of great samples, so I don't blame them for repackaging them. They still sound great. I'm grateful for their deep sales, though, a bit disappointed they no longer to bundle upgrades. Other companies, like Impact Soundworks, Spitfire Audio and Orchestral Tools let people do bundle upgrades so you don't pay for samples you've already purchased during a sale.True, but why are Soundpaint libraries so much cheaper? If and when the day comes (and I doubt it ever will) that 8Dio starts doing new recordings....even if they go direct to SP....the price will be much higher. They haven't paid for new recordings in years.
Right now they are riding the SP 'Port' train for easier revenue. Virtually nothing in SP are new recordings. Eventually this gravy train ends too...just like their other cows (Kontakt libraries) have already been milked as dry as a bone.
Also some of the synths in Soundpaint are new recordings (of hardware) afaik.I think their collaborators series are instruments unique to Soundpaint that have not been used in 8dio libraries before.
