Ok, that's a bit of a shame for all of us who missed the Adachi train. I think I read some stuff works with the Anthology files but not all of it. The again, Anthology/Adagio 2.0 still sounds pretty good for what it is.
Yeah, I'm certainly not an expert on Strings libs but I'm always looking for the ability to make it sound as good as possible…

That's strange, because they appeared in the download section of my account after they updated their website. They are listed under "Archive". Knowing that they are keeping them available on their server space to download for people who've purchased them in the past, it is very strange that they would deny new customers access.

Yep. Same here. They are available for download if I were to need them.
The support have told me that they are removed from the server so now way for me to download them... There is no "Archive" section under my account...

Not impacts. But those percussive trailer hits that play over the orchestra

If previous years are anything to go by, their prices will go to the full price till the summer sales start. Lacrimosa will go to $495 for instance.
They will likely pick a few instruments or instrument bundles to deeply discount each week. If you are not decided about something right now, it will go on sale again eventually. You might have to wait a while though.

I got the email today as well about the extension of the holiday sales. They are hoping for more cash flow because once this sale is over the revenue will all but die until the next crazy flash sale. This is what happens when you devalue your products for over 2 months straight. No one in their right mind is going to make a purchase when this sale is over.....or at least not until the next flash sale.
Indeed. What I don't know is if in the summer they would discount some products even more and I would end up paying more now than waiting. Or if the current discounts are going to be the lowest prices ever for their products and that's it.

I think 8Dio flash sales will get crazier. I've never seen a major VI company bleed themselves this dry before. For example.....selling Insolidus and Silka for $98 ($49 each) is insane. They are worth more than that, but the problem is that they have been flashsaled so many times now, that pretty much everyone who is going to buy them has now done so. I bought Silka years ago for $198 (flash sale) and have used it extensively....I thought it was a fair price at the time.
Then a couple of years ago at BF, I got Insolidus bundled in for free because I bought the full Century Strings and Brass combos for 70% off. I thought that was a killer deal, but compared to this years holiday sales.....I paid way more then I would have this year.
Each year....8Dio is lowering the prices to get the 'more frugal' customers....and it's working. I haven't seen another major VI player devalue their products this much ever.
Eventually the rock will be bled dry....but for right now....it's easy revenue.

I only have the first group of string ostinatos.
This Century Strings and Harp deal has tempted me for several days, but I sort of think I’d never use them other than comparison videos.
I also have the Century brass bundle, but it never (?) makes it into my pieces … only comparison / contrast videos. Usually I find myself noodling and thinking it sounds pretty good, but I tend to find something else that I prefer more (Infinite Brass, THB, Arks, specialty libs, Hollywood/HOOPUS). Usually due to dynamic range — Century Brass tops out a little earlier than I prefer.
I might use the harps. Not certain how often. And so the strings would be a “bonus”.
But I don’t imagine the Century Strings would knock any of my other packages out if my current usage. I guess they could spark an idea but … yeah I sort of want them just to be able to consistently remember why I never bought them earlier (if that makes sense). Like some weird sense of completeness as a collector of sample libraries.
Meanwhile I’m looking at the Adastra chamber strings over on Soundpaint for $30.

I'm kind of always tempted by Century Strings in these sales, but I decided to pick up the rest of Agitato this time around (bought the violins, together with the Adagio 2.0 Violins, last summer to test it). But I also know I won't use them that much since I already have plenty of strings.
I'm also fighting the urge to pick up the Insolidus + Silka bundle... I still haven't had a chance to work with Dominus properly...

I'm also looking at these now. I'm wondering if it's any improvement, both workflow-wise and sonically, to Anthology/Agitato. What stops me from getting Soundpaint versions is usually the vastly larger amount of disk space required, but for some reason the Adastra Violins seem to take about the same space as Adagio Violins.
