FAQ: What is SynthesizerV?

Can I share the promotional video of this song on Instagram, YouTube, etc. with a name that is not real?

For example; Vocal: Roberta Travis (not a real person)
For a woman's name that's forbidden, if I interpret the EULA correctly ... here's a quote of Eclipsed Sounds license agreement:

3.2 Under the condition that:

(1) When Presenting a Rendition, the User must not use names other than designated by Eclipsed Sounds to identify the SVD. These names are as follows: “SOLARIA”, “Solaria”, “SOLARIA AI”, or “Solaria AI”. Named attribution of the SVD is not required for the full version of the SVD. However, if the Lite version is being used, the SVD must be attributed as “SOLARIA Lite”. The User also may not ever use the name “Emma” or “Emma Rowley” to identify the SVD or attribute sounds generated from it.

But that also means, that you are not forced to mention Solaria at all. That means you could publish under a band name, e.g. The Lightning Shadows, without mentioning the singers name at all, so Roberta & The Lightning Shadows on the other hand would be again a violation of the EULA.

Or did I misinterpret the EULA?

A user wrote this on Reddit. I got confused over it

"I've already reached out to them about this and they said that you can use the name of the sound bank if you want to, or alternatively you can use your own producer name or a made up pseudonym for a sound bank, as long as it's not an imitation of another artist or a very common name that can be associated with someone else. And finally, the lyrics cannot be immoral"

Inspired by a discussion on Reddit, I found THIS artist on Spotify ... Penelope Aveline (with Solaria).

PS: She's also on Apple Music. She also has a song with Asterian.

Yes, there are many songs shared with SOLARIA on Spotify. Who knows if there are others with other names but we don't see them :)

I'm pretty sure this Reddit poster got some information confused. When you create a song with a voicebank, you can release the song under your own name or whatever name you want. But when you are crediting the vocalist/voicebank, the EULA is pretty clear... you either identify the voicebank or you don't identify anyone at all.

For music released under my name, I've skirted around this EULA clause by crediting a fictional personal as the song's featured artist, but intentionally neglecting to say what the featured artist did. I left it open to interpretation. People will assume the featured artist is the lead vocalist based on the track artwork, but as long as I never specifically say it, I'm compliant with the EULA.

What the world really needs is a vocal synthesizer that provides the realism of Synth V, but allows the user to control the vocal timbre, accent, etc. That would get around this problem, as the result wouldn't be a particular voice.
