Synths That Get No Love.

I've always had a soft spot for Rob Papen's Predator (the original one). It's not the most versatile synth in the world and is a bit fizzy sometimes, but it has some serious prophet-esque fatness that I do occasionally reach for over other more popular offerings. Don't hear it talked about very often.

The Maschine Drum Synth.
It looks like nothing. It can do everything. When I first really took a deeper look into it, I felt stupid for ever having bought additional drum sounds. In fact, many of the dope drums in all of the hyped expansions: Maschine Drum Synth with a few FX thrown on top.

And the fact that it looks like nothing and can be twisted from rather realistic over circuit bent into electronic classics with just a few knobs is also really ingenious, because there is so much going on under the hood.

If you look for Maschine Drum Synth on YouTube you can find a talk with the two main developers which is worth the watch

Synthehol from Star Trek.
Sounds like an antiseptic mouthwash

A sound you can drink!
I wouldn't swallow that stuff 😜

The Maschine Drum Synth.
This. I've been using it a lot lately, solo or layered with samples, within Maschine and also to generate sounds for some garage-y and other kits ... outstanding job by the devs.

Another synth I mentioned some days ago in a different thread would be Massive X. ... despite NI's ongoing negligence of some basic functions that would make that thing even more useful (user/3rd party preset management, wavetable import,...) it is one powerful and flexible synth and just sounds great; downright organic here and there.

Izotope Iris / 2. Bought it years ago; the idea behind it sounded brilliant and the novelty factor was through the roof; what ended the game for me was the fact that every time i opened it up, somehow i ended up choosing whatever random sound source i could find and making organ partials out of it... :D
