Softube : Model 82 Sequencing Mono Synth

I actually have a great hw preamp: the Great River ME-1NV(Neve inspired) I use it for vocal mic duties primarily, eventually I want to get a 2nd to make it a pair for more synth sounds etc….but in the meantime some of these better preamp plugins imo really help immensely.

The Coil plugin might be worth checking out,it’s not $19 but it sounds great!

Here’s a review that’s just being released on YouTube:

How does the UA stack up? I have it and thought it sounds pretty solid, but don't have other MMs to compare head to head.
Softube's 72 sounds closest to my hardware, better resonance and filters, includes an FX version, and individual modules for use in Softube Modular. Also offers MIDI learn unlike UAD.

LOL, yeah, not sure what UA was thinking with no midi learn... I wasn't too impressed with Softube's amp sims and I'm a guitar guy so have at least some clue about those, but I'll take your word for it on the synth side since you have the hardware (which in my book makes you a synth guy even if you're a guitar guy too). So I'll check out ST synths closer. I did go for the $19 deal so can at least get a feel for them as a maker.

Indeed, like you I am first and foremost a guitarist. Softube amp sims aren't bad, but you can't beat Archetype IMO. BTW, I wouldn't judge Softube's synth emulations by this one. It's good for what it is, but my least fav of their vintage emulations. I would have honestly passed even at $19 if I wasn't interested in using it in Modular.
