So that was some sort of wishlist you posted? No, I wish! I have all the soft synths apart from the logic one but I don't have any hardware anymore. Everything in the box nowadays.
Kind of, the OP originally asked what were good synths for FM so I listed all the one's I knew about. I did have a DX7 years ago unfortunately it stopped working so it's now just an expensive shelf! So that was some sort of wishlist you posted?

You need a consonant filter for that. It's not strictly FM, so the purists won't put them in their synths. The one you will obviously have to build yourself to satisfy your needs I don't know any synth that has that th sound
Give Halion a go. It's pretty nice sounding.HELlo dear internet.
I come to you with the Question.
What is the best FM Synthesizer? Allow me to state my conditions:
1. The best sound. Absolutely the most pristine, artifact-free audio-rate FM that the digital domain did ever proliferate.
2. Some good envelope controls and LFOs. A lot of them, preferably.
3. More of everything else. The more of everything else the better. Waveforms, synthesis types, number of oscillators and types of oscillator interactions like sync, oscillator effects, PWM.
4. Also, the best sound. It must sound absolutely like the best thing ever. Not like Phase Plant the best thing ever, but like the untold, pause-before-you-utter-it-and-listen-to-the-silence-afterward best thing ever. The best sound.
5. Feedback.

Ah, yes, the dental fricative filter. There have been endless forum wars over whether voiced or unvoiced is superior. You need a consonant filter for that. It's not strictly FM, so the purists won't put them in their synths.

I find the Digitone Keys a weirdly attractive synth. It feels wrong but good, you know. Kinda like sitting in a bathtub full of baked beans. You'd never do it, know it's weird nad frowned upon but wildly fascinating at the same time. Will press for Elektron - Digitone ...... once feeling a bit capable with Elektron workflow and salient use of 'terms'.

I don't think @Bee_Abney heart can take anymore of my fascinations.baked beans?
Marcus,
Could you please share with us other things you find wildly fascinating?
This somewhat demented inquiring mind would certainly like to know………..…..
Tip: start with 2OP FM, like here:I'll never get the hang of the complexity of FM synths.
