I have plenty synth (hardware), mostly EMU, sitting in a beautiful tower, a DX7(modified) and a P80 Yamaha.
Because Motu did not upgrade the PCI 424 card I do not use them anymore ; they are for sell

Who can afford a CS80 ?

I have not used a single virtual synth since summer last year.
i took a break from buying sample libraries and virtual instruments and i
have bought 4 hardware synths since and use them on equal terms
Roland JunoX
Moog Subsequent37
Sequential Prophet6
Soma Lyra8
Eventide h90 and
bunch of Drive&Distortion pedals.

Could you tell us more about what difference it makes to you versus using soft synths? More productive or more noodling? Better sound or more audio issues? Etc...

When you go on holiday you cannot bring all your hard synth in the plane :dancer::elephant::2thumbs:

One or two keyboards and a computer are more easy to transport that Rick Wakeman, Vangelis, Emerson Lake and Palmer equipment to play on stage :2thumbs::elephant::dancer:

Also less cabling ! less problems ! les audio cards ! do not need big mixer just for the keyboards.

It’s a trap.

(All of it)

:)

Omnisphere, Falcon with a ton of expansions, Zebra, wavestate native, wavestation, Roland Cloud (love the D-50), V-Collection, Triton VST, etc.

I also have 15 hardware synth including a Jupiter X, Prophet X and a ModX, because I like the letter X.

+1 for v collection
+1 for pigments (awesome, still learning)
+1 for retrologue (quick sounds)

For V collection, I mostly use it for old school sound preset hopping until I know what my favourite tones are (and what's possible) to learn a particular synth or two more intimately at a later point in time. I'm leaning most towards the DX7 and Acid (303).

I'm a newbie still trying to learning synthesis. (Feel free to share your favourite platforms for that with me, I could definitely use more concrete resources other than YT and some other things I found)

Complex-1 is a great sounding synth. I think you and me are the only one's who use it though.

I have Complex-1 as well. Great sound, and really interesting to use. Having started out in the Reason environment and acquiring too many synths even before branching out into the VST world, I listen to demos from some of the most popular choices such as Diva, Zebra, Serum, Pigments etc, and don't feel like I'm missing out on much at all.

Soft synth? Arturia's Synclavier. Thanks to Anthony Matinelli's vids on youtube, I was drawn in to a deep dive. Since it's had the resampling update, I can't stop mucking about with it.

Hardware: don't laugh, a Roland D110. It's notoriously difficult to use because of its arcane menu system, but there's an ipad app for it that makes life much easier. It can actually make some really interesting sounds alongside bread and butter stuff. It's much more versatile than I first thought when chuckling my way through its cheese maze of GM-style presets.

You know when you just want a challenge for your brain even though you know time is better spent elsewhere, but you do it anyway? Yeah, that.

SC88 next!

I was not trying to replace any of my softsynths
I owned juno 106 many years ago late 90s
Diva was close to Juno "sort of" but I found it to be a nobrainer when I tested junoX and I find it sounding better than both the old juno and Diva also moving sliders and turninn knobs in your fingers feels way more comunicative and musical than mouse.
And the other synths like moog and prophet along with the Juno and adding guitar pedals like reverbs delay and overdrive. I don't know you have to try it yourself to understand. And I use the synths in various musical themes. The juno and the prophet are both stereo and the moog and lyra8 are mono. So 6 input channels
And I use the the pedals stereo in and stereo out.i have limited in and out in my interface
At the moment I am using 3 pedals in one stereo in and out. It would be nice seperatly and I also have kemper and I find it also do well as an fx.
I use mostly outboard fx when I am doing layers of pads and soundscapes and drones. Also leads and arps like in the vain of "Vitalic and Jon Hopkins" the rest is just typical template set of pads strings brass and arps if needed.
