What's new

Does Best Service Engine even exist anymore?

Bah, he told me that "it just stopped doing that at some point", so not much help, sorry. :(

I inquired about the Engine this week, this was the reply:
"I´m afraid i cannot give you more information than that it will need more time. The new Engine is working find so far but all libraries must be converted into the new format which needs much time.
It's certainly been a long time but this response is welcome news since I now know they're updating the libraries.

I don't think we'll get this for free or a 90% discount. If I need to pay for all my Engine 2 libraries again, even if I need to pay "only" 50%, I'm probably not going to do it. That would add up really fast.

If the engine is out of beta testing, I would think they could release it as soon as some (say ten percent) of the libraries have been converted.

Yea, I might pay something for the sampler, but I’m not going to buy the libraries again, I hope it’s all free

As one who can't use some of the libraries because of the engine, I would stop doing business with a vendor that asked me to pay for an update that fixes their errors.

If you are on Cubase and want to stay native, there's a plugin from DDMF called Superplugin. It has allowed me to use the AU version of Engine inside of Cubase so that it actually works.

That being said I won't buy anything else till they come up with a new version.

I wonder if Unify would work the same way here?

I’m using engine on an M1 Mac without Rosetta, so maybe I’m tricking my machine! I love all of Eduardo’s libraries and use them a lot..so I hope they update soon!
That’s because of the Mac AUHostingCompatibilityService Process that only works with Audio Units, I believe. You should be able to see it running in Activity Monitor.

Just got "single Bandoneon" from accordions 2, Its no kontakt player vst but engine 2 and I hate it..
Don't use accordions that much , so getting the complete bundle just for one part is a no go for me.
