TL;DR
I noticed that, too, with Phasis. Then I it in ran Stand Alone Kontakt, and that seemed to improve things on my M1 Mac... back to instant loading when run within my DAW (DP).

It was time for Kontakt to modernize. There are so many other samplers grabbing foothold now. K7 had to change in order to speak to the younger generation of composers. The older generation has enough tools and many don’t want all of the new and shiny tools used for that more modern and processed sound.

Not in my world. I can move my Kontakt libraries all over the place. Try that with some of these romplers. Do not confuse Kontatk with Kontakt player.

Kontakt 7.8.0 has a small, negligible bug:
I'm used to shrinking the Rack View tab, but closing Kontakt after 7.8.0 shrinks it and opening it again doesn't save the settings I made before!
Take LA Scoring Strings 3 for example:
For example, if I don't want the "a" behind the label to appear, I can drag and drop Kontakt's zoom in the bottom right corner to the far left, fine, but when I close and reopen KT the "a" will still appear.
Clicking on the reset window size button in Options works, but again, I can't save the settings.
I'm not sure if the devs messed something up, it's an extremely minor bug and I'd still like the devs to fix it!

LOL. Any drive I chose. It's still the best file system of out there. I'm not sure what they need to modernize as people treat it only as a rompler.

None of them seem to have the same power, however. Most of the Kontakt replacements are glorified romplers.

Has anyone else been getting occasional playback glitches and stutters in 7.8.0? I haven't experienced this at all before this version but suddenly getting a lot of it on higher track counts... Mostly been using Cinematic Studio Series but will see if I get the issue on other libs as well.
