Synplant 2

Genopatch allows a user to drop in an audio sample and AI/ML will try its best to approximate the sound utilizing the synth engine itself.
My university thesis 20 years ago was about this exact idea - just with much less mature AI techniques than we have today. I didn't get very far and ended up binning the project, so it's awesome to see someone getting this concept to work. I will for sure be getting this!

It would be great if when saving a patch it was also remembering all the geno-patch suggestions within it. or does it do it already?

There’s a minimal script that can be added that will allow you to save all of the Genopatch patches:

Synplant 2 scripts
thanks, but i can't figure out this:
"save to the scripts directory and access via the little button at the top right of synplant window."
Which button on the top right?

Alos, on MAC, where is the script folder? /Applications/Sonic charge/ ?

Thank you

On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Sonic Charge/

Once you've gotten the folder in there, you'll see a little puzzle piece show up in the upper right corner of Synplant 2. Click on it and you're good to go.

oh, it sprung up all of a sudden ! :) Thank you :)

Released a sound bank for Synplant 2 called Electro-acoustic Explorations. I made it resynthesizing, tweaking and polishing sounds from my pianos, gongs, crystal and tibetan bowls, handpans, and rare world instruments processed by modular synthesizers and other experimental electronic devices.

99 presets including Pads, keys, bells, leads, fx, atmospheres, basses, sonic evolutions...

All sounds have an organic flavour where the electric and the acoustic converge, and are suitable for all types of music, from ambient, electronic, cinematic, to neoclassical and world music, especially for those looking for new timbres to apply to their productions.

hope you find it useful and a source of inspiration!

I am thinking of getting this at some point but I've heard stories of Overheating CPU's and for a lack of a better term its a bit "rapey" when it comes to processing in general. I have a Intel i9 24 core. Its Not overclocked (I don't how to do that anyway). 64GB DDR5 RAM.

Seriously it should be able to run it right?

its a bit "rapey"

Anything would be better than using that term.

demanding?
heavy?

It’s a fine synth even sans Genopatch where the heavy CPU lifting comes into play. I’ve got an M1 Max with 32Gb of RAM and Synplant 2 does just fine.

I know this has next to no value to the musical side of this thread, but something about the writhing organic plantlike worms that make up the centre of the GUI makes me extremely uncomfortable to a degree where I decided I am not interested in having it in the house.

It's kinda silly. But real.

They move too fast and...wriggly for that. I feel silly, but it's not ok😫😂 didn't wanna hijack the musically valuable discussion, Mu over and out *spine shivers*

What can we be if not honest? Here’s mine: I’m really particular about texture, how do potentiometers feel, how does the playing surface feel, etc. The Seaboard didn’t work as a tool for creative self-expression for me because of this. I couldn’t get over the feeling of playing a wetsuit.
