Synplant 2

Very nice that you did this with these resources, gave a really nice impression. Thanks Justin :)

Also great that they supply a 3 week trial and checking it out now.
Thanks Jaap, I'm glad you thought the sources I tried were useful. I genuinely have had a hard time putting it down once I start exploring it so have fun demoing it... I'd imagine some of your TSA cohorts have been having great fun with it today as well :)

This thing is freaking cool, been feeding it into Efx Fragments, using an expression pedal to control the growth parameter. Apocalyptic soundscape heaven. I am glad I have three weeks to see if I can pry myself away from it.

Woah super impressive
OK I only watched this for about 5 minutes,my question and reaction probably confirms I’m a total fuckin moron or I need to watch the entire clip but what are they doing?

This sounds interesting but I am having trouble understanding how this is actually utilized in a musical context and really don’t understand much of the concept. Besides being dense are there any video clips that might help me better understand the concept and how to effectively use Synplant 2?

Thanks,
KG

Genopatch allows a user to drop in an audio sample and AI/ML will try its best to approximate the sound utilizing the synth engine itself. It presents a list of different options as it works through getting closer to approximating the sound. Important to note is that Synplant 2 is not a sampler. It's subtractive synthesis.

Thanks @c0nsilience for the explanation. Synplant looks as interesting as
it’s puzzling,lol
I guess I need to check this out more thoroughly when I have the time.
On a side note with the No-Sale policy at least I don’t have to worry about FOMO and can check this out without feeling rushed or pressured. 👍

No problem! And, considering the original Synplant came out 15 years ago, I think you've got plenty of time to check it out. 😉

A very generous demo, doesn't seem to be limited at all, three weeks and a week only counts if you have used it at least once during that week.

As an aside, Magnus and Fredrik Lidstrom (the brothers that are Sonic Charge), are super nice and the best in the business when it comes to customer service and following your bliss with a small development company. From the sweat equity alone, I had zero issue with opening my wallet to support their efforts.

I also wanted to truly thank everyone on VI-Control for not being the viper pit that is KVR! Lol. Most of that forum reminds me of the late and great Mitch Hedberg's famous quote:

"You can't make everyone happy all of the time and, last night, they were all at my show."
