How much practice on trumpet to beat samples?

Talent is just as important (if not more) than the time involved to learn a craft or instrument.

I find the trumpet being one of the most covered topics in VI domain. You have gazillion of samples, modeled instruments, synth based instruments, and hybrids of different kinds too.

If you need a full bodied sustain sound, samples are the best, and it would take years to achieve anything resembling a pro sound.

Some short movements between adjacent notes would be easier to master, but Straight Ahead Samples instruments do those splendidly (in delay mode).

I get that. My wife is an amateur musician herself so she understands when I play Clarke runs for an hour
