What's new

Behringer UB-Xa

I think if I was going digital/hybrid I'd look at the 3rd Wave and Nina as well as UDO. Good luck! Researching and shopping is half the fun.
At least 'half' ..... and learning component is strong pour moi. Must lean heavily on YT vids /online reviews, so at their mercy .... yet Jorb hammers UDO Super 6 Module kinda hard. So far, find his vids useful.

Nina impressive _ not yet sold on motorized controls .... since no live need here.
3rd Wave will get much more attention, tho cost issue same as OB-X8.

Looking at the Behringer lineup...it's almost all recreations/reworking of old tech.

As a group, it's utterly bizarre that we're sold our history over and over again. From recreations of old synths, to sample libraries that use the same battered mics and dust encrusted signal chains of our favourite records.
I don't think it's that strange.. a lot of recreational musicians are working in a style that was popular when they were a teenager. Nothing wrong with that; they're making the music that's meaningful to them.

It does mean there's a lot of money in re-issuing 1980s synths, or selling guitars that you beat with chains so they look like they've been in a UPS van since the 1960s. The more music the better, as far as I'm concerned! (Crazy Frog not included)

I heard the video both starsky and got surprised by the thump. There is an OB-X8 at double the price of the Behringer I am eyeing 🙈
Also stumbled on YT Vid comparing nicely sound of OB-8X and Prophet 5. Showed how weak my P5 chops are. 😳
No way minimizing that 'thumb' deserves 3x $$$ 💸 UB-Xa keybed seems quitte well done ... imho.

OTH ... bidding on 'mint' Groove Synthesis - 3rd Wave Desktop Module for ~ OB-X8 Module cost.
