Cubase 13 released! Now available for purchase

updated, now refusing to load project worked on yesterday. Spinning wheel and program stops responding the moment I open the project file. Empty project works fine.

OSX Monterey 12.7.1, Cubase 13.0.20 (148).

Creating and saving a project created in this version works fine. Opening any old project is crashing the application, every time.

UPDATE:

Deactivating all third party plugins now opens the project.

Is there any way to find out what plugin is crashing Cubase in this project without testing them one by one?

Thanks!

Problems I am seeing (not fixed in update):

- As soon as I modify a note, my project duration changes back to the same (very high) value, making it a pain to use the horizontal slider bar.

- New visibility tab for Key Editor will change the view to the beginning of the event - seemingly at random when toggling visibility for tracks (even though all tracks have events at the current viewpoint - or song cursor position). I have to remember to keep the song cursor at the current editing position so I can hit play/stop when this happens.

- Cannot see marker track in full screen Key Editor. Not sure if this is a bug or design oversight but very annoying

Cubase added proper faders on MIDI tracks without having to jump to the mixer, but it's pointless for Kontakt instruments that have multiple outputs because it only shows the first output. The older versions had an option to the right of the fader that would jump to its position in the mixer... But I don't see that icon in C13. Anyone know what I'm talking about here?

You can choose which output from kontakt the midi track displays in the channel strip. Not at the computer at the moment so sorry for lack of details on how. If I remember it’s at the top of the inspector or at the top of the new channel strip itself.

Thanks Kslovelace, I see it now.

Where are midi modifiers now? I swear they moved just about everything I frequently used:confused:
Right-click the empty area of the Inspector, and enable MIDI modifiers in the "Set up Sections" dialogue. Yep, I had my 2 minutes of confusion too. It's a bit surprising that this isn't enabled by default.

Thank you! I swear I was looking around so many random places trying to find it and I was getting very frustrated

Question. Does Yamaha have to approve all the Steinberg releases that come out, and do they fund everything that comes out? Also, is the Cubase/Nuendo team the same or different?

Have you considered asking this question on the Steinberg Cubase Forums

I'm loving the power and flexibility of C13 so far, but my aging eyes are struggling with the small text and densely packed UI elements. Is there any way to internally zoom or scale up the Cubase UI and text? Even if I scale my entire OS down to 960P (on a 4K monitor) it still feels too small. I'm getting the impression that most heavy Cubase users are running monitors larger than 27"?

I had to swap out a pair of stacked ultra wide 49" for a 43" 4k monitor (scaled at 125%) because of this, especially on the left side where the column of info has the tiniest font ever..

This is a really bad bug that significantly diminishes the value of the track visibility function. I would imagine a standard beta test will have picked this up, but alas we are the best testers it seems. I have already started a post at Steinberg forum but so far no response from the Cubase team. I have avoided using the visibility function because of this.

Keep on chatting with Martin.

Fwiw, that double click on auto-scroll is very helpful in other locating situations too. I have it on a few of my Metagrid macro buttons to achieve location issues that previously were not possible to my knowledge.

I don't think it was ever picked up. But you must remember there is a ton of things to cover in 11 months, and some obvious may not appear obvious to others when testing. Anyway, yes I think it needs to be looked at, and a solution found.

Thanks for bringing this up.
