It says "Subscribe now" for the Dorico 5 trial too, and that's been out for months, and that product doesn't have a subscription. You're worried about nothing.Fingers crossed...

Upon every release there’s that one man who risk everything to help others in need…..that man is @PaulieDCSince I'm the hapless fanboy who isn't earning composing income at the moment, once it's released, I'll dive in head first with the 12Pro --> 13 pro upgrade and see whats-a-happenin. Tower and laptop. Cover me, I'm going in...
I have been fighting for this feature to return for years. It's been nearly impossible to even reach the company, let alone have this feature's disappearance acknowledged. Nonetheless, I've been extremely persistent in my attempts. Based on the (few) responses I got, I do not expect it to be back with the next release and I'm not counting on it ever returning at this point. Still, not seeing it in the release notes will kill me just a little bit more inside .CONTEXTUAL.
UNDO.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY AND PURE. BRING IT BACK.
If they accidentally released a "glitch sale" the buzz would be through the roof..... Just sayin' if anybody reading this from Yamaha/Steinberg Marketing or IT department, now is your time to shine. Then 'accidentally' release a leak to get the buzz going.
GET READY BOYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
This is why I'm still on 10. The fact that it seems that they removed it by accident is just hilarious.CONTEXTUAL.

VST2 was > discontinued over > a decade ago, not Steinberg's fault developers are either lazy, don't feel like updating. And Windows and Mac kicked 32bit support out. Why would a developer waste their time and resources supporting it if the operating system doesn't.Windows users, please keep in mind that Steinberg has promised to remove all VST2 support from newer versions of their software. Not sure if that will be this version, or the next one.
AFAIK they've already nuked vst2 support for Mac.
Finally, a worthy upgrade. Sign me up, quickUnfortunately, when Cubase crashes it doesn't just take the program.... it leaves town with your wife.
You just be very fun at parties. Or anywhere. Nice aggression there. Tech comes and goes in case nobody noticed over the last 40 something years. Either stop upgrading and keep your legacy system intact, or play the game and follow their rules, plain and simple.
When Cubase 12 was released, they said removing VST2 would be a couple years away. So I think we have four months until that two year point. So it would not surprise me if Cubase 13 does not have VST 2 support. You just be very fun at parties. Or anywhere. Nice aggression there. Allow me to reply in kind.
Backwards compatibility is not a crime.
But your opinion has been noted. And discarded as useless.
Talking to a number of people who develop plugins, VST3 is a nightmare of spaghetti and pointlessness, so I understand that much about not caring to update everything. And the favor for CLAP.not Steinberg's fault developers are either lazy, don't feel like updating.
Or upgrade and use wrappers. Same result, slightly more incovience and perhaps crashes and thus support cases. But some people probably won't do it.Either stop upgrading and keep your legacy system intact, or play the game and follow their rules, plain and simple.
It would surprise me a lot. Cubase is known as one of the DAWs that run every plug-in in the world (even if it's technically incompatible and ignores all standards possible). Excluding VST2 plug-ins would keep a lot of people from upgrading. So it would not surprise me if Cubase 13 does not have VST 2 support.
