What's new

Eventide launches Blackhole Immersive... and it's $499

499 for adding extra phase randomizer seeds for the extra channels ?

And a couple more tweaks.. Well money usually isn't an issue for people with an Atmos setup I guess
Does it only decorrelate duplicates of an internal stereo output?
That would be some serious snake oil

Just bought it to find out :)

I think I've figured it out. They call it Blackhole Immersive because it swallows your entire budget.

Joking aside, I do like their plugins and have almost all of them -- but blackhole doesn't get much use when extra-long reverbs through HD cart (huge fan of the stone hall + added modulation and decreased bass) or Sonsig Rev A just sound better to me.

Wait a few days, right? lol

Edit - my cross grade price is $149. I think i will wait a year or two for this to get cheaper.
Absolutely! :roflmao:

Do you work in Surround? If so, there are other cost-effective options that fall into the "creative" category, like Tai Chi by LiquidSonics.

I think I bought the original Black Hole plugin for $35 on sale back in the day.

Fantastic Reverb, and a great sale price.

OK

This is probably the dumb question of the day but I must ask more knowledgeable folks here to confirm.
If a user works in stereo & doesn’t create music in a surround format is there any reason to consider these immersive plugins?
Do these immersive plugins bring anything to the table that is beneficial for a stereo environment?

I suspect not but I just want to make sure.

Thanks

It does if you're into binaural mixdown.

Maybe they figured out the price was a bit steep… it’s on sale pretty soon. Anyway, I’m waiting for the Liquidsonics BF sale..

Thanks for the recommendation! I will check it out. I have Seventh Heaven and love it.

I have the same question. Did this blackhole immersive dedicated to dolby atmos or 5.1 users, or is it working as well for stereo? If not i'll stay with normal blackhole.

I don't think it's useful in stereo, the standard Blackhole is perfectly adequate.

Usually, you can download a time limited trial version to decide for yourself.
