Labelled No 7 and dated 1903, this a good example of Walker's work, in excellent condition. All materials are of select quality, well-figured sycamore being used for back , ribs and neck.
The belly is in good straight spruce, of medium grain narrowing to fine below the bridge.

Model is close to the 'Long Strad' pattern, with the slightly steeper arching and confident, masculine
scroll typical of many Scottish makers of the period. A good-looking fiddle, with broad, earthy tones matching its appearance, it projects well, having good balance and enough power to be useful to the orchestral or traditional player.
