A fine, 6-holed Irish flute in F Hand-made c 1986 by Ian Wood in Northumbria, this very pretty flute is in the key of F, allowing tunes in G minor and B flat, so pretty useful. Hand-turned in English pear-wood with brass ferrules and tuning slide, it is an easy blow over fully two octaves, controllable and very responsive. In the hands of a decent player, it sounds clear, sweet and very strong... nicely mature, expressive. |

The flute was properly played in, has been cleaned and oiled regularly and is in perfect playing order, with no repair issues. I play it myself sometimes and have become a little attached, but the right trade may come along one day. You might also like the look of this pear-wood D flute by the same maker. |
