How do you deal with Some libraries having a delay when you are writting with them?

I'm working on something right now and Ive noticed with some sample libraries there is a noticeable delay between what is played and the sample actually playing. I notice in the UI it says -180 sample offset, I'm not sure how to translate that into an actual performance?

You set negative track delay in your DAW for the playback. If you’re looking to play in your notes more like a performance, some libraries offer a way to cut in to the start of the samples (a “playable” mode) and others don’t. If you’re dealing with the latter category you sort of need to get a feel for the delay and play accordingly. The recorded MIDI can then be either nudged a bit, to get it “on the grid” or you set the appropriate track delay. Some libraries basically “ask” to be programmed this way and aren’t all that “playable”. That’s why for writing some people like to use responsive ensemble patches, that they can swap out later for samples that may have a larger delay but render a better sound.
