Hello everyone
Sorry, I don't know where to place my topic.
I'm looking to optimize my orchestral template as I only have one PC with limited resources.
After examining posts on the subject, I'm trying to use only one Vienna Ensemble Pro instance, since many people agree that several instances are not necessary except in special cases. Not least because each instance consumes some resources.
On the other hand, I hope to have enough midi channels, and that's where I'll need your advice.
I've come back to a piece I'd left aside a long time ago where I was trying to make all the joints with expression maps.
Even if this system is great, it's still a bit of a gas factory, and what's more, I have the impression that updating cubase or whatever has changed them for me, so I can't find my way around at all.
Well, I use the KS with TouchOSC, which is very practical for playing, but for recording I often find it wonky.
Then there's what a lot of pros seem to do, with screens 4x the size of mine => 1 midi track = 1 VEP channel = 1 articulation. It's a bit tedious to set up, but in the end I imagine it's perhaps a little more optimized?
Well, above all, it makes the cubase project much easier to read for the different articulations.
What do you think of all this?
Or should we simply not use VEP? But I found it quite practical for template preparation.
Another question: up until now, I've been doing a bit of pre-mixing on VEP directly, and then outputting everything to an audio channel on cubase. What would be the best practice?
Thank you very much
