First public cello performance in about 8 years this past weekend

At a wedding! Really fun experience. It feels good to play, it really seems like my composition and my cello practices inform each other. (also saves me having to get string instrument VSTs if I self-record, lol)

It was probably the best way to get back into public performance, because the first ~hour was just "play random nice-sounding stuff in the background while everyone ignores you and filters in milling about." Great way to warm up in a low-pressure environment so that during the actual ceremony walk-in piece I was ready to go.

You will likely not be surprised to hear that the individuals in the blurry background were bored and had to find ways to entertain themselves during that hour before the ceremony, LOL

I'm glad you got to warm up before the big moment. That's the bit that would have wracked my nerves!
