Disklavier piano for music production (home studio)

Hi,

I'm posting in the hardware keyboards category because that's how I envision the use of this piano:

"Yamaha DU1 EN PE Disklavier Silent"

I have already done a remote rec session in East Europe with a grand piano and I am considering purchasing the urpight piano version.

I have doubts about whether I can use this thing as I want because there is very little user feedback on the internet, apart from promotional videos from Yamaha.

Here I would like to consider this piano in the same way as a virtual instrument in its simplicity aspect.
That is to say that in my DAW I would have a midi track which would send a signal to the piano disklavier, then mics would record the signal which would return to my DAW.
Being a good pianist myself, I consider that if it works it could be a huge time saver because there is no need to do X takes, just adjust the velocity and positioning of the midi events a little.

I am doubtful about the long-term precision, maintenance and also the noise of the motor system.

Does anyone here have the experience of using this type of piano in a music production context?

Thank you in advance for your feedback

I've done exactly that with both upright and grand versions of the Disklavier. It was a while ago now, but I did not run into any problems, in fact it worked brilliantly. Keep in mind that back then there were no really great piano libraries yet, heck Kontakt wasn't even around yet, if that is a factor?

They do require some maintenance, a little more than a "plain old" piano, but nothing earthshaking. If I could afford one I'd have one!
