:?: Altiverb versus Waves IR?

I think Waves has got a better interface and more impulse responses. But I'm biased - I've been using waves for years.

Altiverb is cool but its Mac based - so unless you have one, you're out of luck there.

They BOTH have an advantage over the other convolvers: they come with very good stereo-to-stereo impulses. People with Pristine Space, SIR, etc. probably have the same plugin quality, but they lack the stuff that comes with Altiverb and IR1.

I think there is a serious opportunity for impulse library producers! I am actually still considering to sample the TC6000 from all "angles" (true stereo and stereo to surround). All the current "freebies" (for instance on NoiseVault.com) are still not up to par with the Altiverb and IR1 libraries.

I have 1 library with film score spaces from Ernest Cholakis, which I think (for me) is currently the best available, but the impulses are only (standard) mono-stereo ones...

True stereo sounds sooo much nicer and more realistic... Now I still have to narrow my convolver inputs, to avoid that weird lateral ambience effect with lateral sounds.

Oh well, I am repeating myself on all forums on this topic

Go for it please - I would love to have an impulse of the TC6000 in stereo and surround and if anyone caught wind of it I'm sure they would too. I have Altiverb and love it but the idea of having a TC6000 in a plug-in is intoxicating.

I totally agree. Peoples hearts are in the right place by sampling all these spaces and boxes but the quality is nothing that I can use on any project. There is a huge market for pro IR's.... if I only had 12 more hours in every day..... :)

donnie - can the powercore remotely compete with the tc6000? if the new tc box is cheap enough that may be another way to do it.

I've only heard the TC6000 once but I would say no. I use the Altiverb reverb over the Powercore reverb almost everytime.
