Hey Guys and Gals,
I was wondering what you use to mix in all of your hardware synths to your DAW. I have 15 hardware synths and currently use two Behringer 1602 Line Mixers to mix them into two two stereo channels on my 1802I Focusrite audio interface (it has 8 analog inputs. I use one input for my guitar, one for a vocal mic, 2 for my Kronos and then 2 each for the Behringers) It all works rather well but.... the Behringers are pretty noisy and once in a while on any given channel it just fizzles out for a bit. I have toyed with the idea of getting a new 32 channel mixer but I don't need any EQ etc. THe Behringers are actually perfect as far as functionality and price. They just kind of suck a bit in the quality and noise level. I've even toyed with buying two new brand new ones because they are cheap but that might be money spent in the wrong direction.
Is a patch bay my best bet? Seeing as I rarely listen to all 15 synths at a time (although I can have 4-5 going at one time)
I don't have a lot of money to spend (because I blew it all on hardware synths) but do any of you have a suggestion for an inexpensive line mixer? (like the 1602 with 16 - 32 analog inputs)
Any suggestions would be welcome. (unless, like my wife, you say "sell 10 of them off")
All the very best,
Darren
