Looks very nice - I would upgrade from 7 to 8 when the Windows version is ready, but I think I'll skip it as I see they still haven't changed their single license policy. They don't even offer a discount on the 2nd.

They're one of the few companies left with such an unreasonable restriction. I've written to their support to express this view, if anyone else is in the same boat I suggest they do the same.

I was wondering about this only a couple of days ago. Great to see it’s got AS native support.

I'm still on v6, would have upgraded to 7 but it was way more expensive than this. It's £260ish to move up to 8 so even though I don't like using such an ancient plugin it's not worth the investment for me, v6 still works.

If you're after the true sound of a particular space then I guess Altiverb is hard to beat but, with the likes of Liquidsonics Cinematic Rooms, 7th Heaven and Fabfilter Pro R 2 now in my arsenal, my Altiverb 7 rarely get used.

A nice update which brings it into the modern world (the v7 GUI was looking decidedly old and tired) but, having fully spent out on BF stuff, an upgrade is going to have to wait.

I had Altiverb 7 and sold it, while its a great convolution reverb i think the price tag is a bit much, espeacially considering all other players in the market which has changed a lot since Audioease came out with their first version. For instances i justed picked up Silver from Acustica Audio which is wonderfull convolution reverb for €37. I will say that Altiverb has a ridicilous amount of IR's but how many does one need to create good music. Perhaps if your working in music and post preductions the price is warranted but in my case definitely not.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that it's expensive! I would not need it for anything else than being able to use it m1 native and as VST3. And for that having to pay as much as many great surround reverb plugins cost for the full product seems a little much to ask ...

I particularly loved 5:44 where he explained unfazed and with all the dutch seriousness availbable in this world how a man and a women can have a dialogue in a square meter portable toilet even available in atmos. Imagine running your fart library through that, Dreamworks fireworks are gonna look quite tame in comparaison.

Woah! Amazing news and about time! And cheap upgrade price, IMHO.

I still use it quite a lot even though having Cinematic Rooms, Seventh Heaven etc as my master bus reverbs. Doesn't make sense to compare those to Altiverb. I use it to place (solo mainly) instruments more precisely in space.

The Final Tree has Fallen in what used to be my forest of plugins requiring Rosetta2.

No more MAS version for DP. This may be an issue for some; I switched to AU when I moved to Altiverb 7.

Anyone know if it's ever been on sale? I had it bookmarked during BF but the price never went down. Maybe Christmas? :)

I've heard that this contains a Todd AO preset, which is really nice for tail on orchestra.

I can't recall them ever doing a sale of any kind. And yes, it does have the Todd/AO hall.

The single license is also the deal breaker for me... It's the same reason why I eventually stopped using EW. They do make great products, but the license policy is outdated and stingy...

Just FYI - EW do now offer a free second license for HOOPUS if you ask nicely. I think they said it was coming to other products too. Quite a big deal imo, though they don't make much of a noise about it.

I bought Altiverb many moons ago, one of the most expensive purchases I've ever made. but they want so much to upgrade to the current iteration that I've just abandoned it. I see the word 'stingy' used above and I'd echo that.

The did that for me and I didn't even contact them, I just mentioned it on a post and they messaged me on this forum and gave me a 2nd licence,
