Sorry if I put that topic to the wrong directory. I just wanted to share that current Christmas sale newsletter from Universal Audio makes me feeling uncomfortable.

Just look at this scary children with 6 fingers hand (right one) or the third hand from her chest (left one).

HolidAI, yes, you wrote AI, I got this. But can you put the generate knob in Midjorney one more time to exclude that mutants from your newsletter? You don't sell me your plugins but nightmares.

(Of course I'm exaggerating about my danger and it was more fun than scary for me, but the pictures are really unpleasant)

Is it just me, or does UAD seem to have become the new Waves? I have been inundated with ads for bargain priced plugins from them.

No - I have gotten 3 and 4 emails a day - seems to be tapering off a little bit now though. I really don't want to unsubscribe so I hope they change their email philosophy soon

Yes, a lot of ads spammimg, always the same discounts. That AI-generated campaign looks like they don't care about the quality of ads, only about quantity. Waiting for "only NOW $29.99" plugins sales, like Waves.

I'm not a huge UAD user (because I don't use their interface + I'm Windows user), but for years I heard of them like a super premium company and all these cheap annoying marketing is not combined for me with my previous premium picture. I used trial month for Spark subscription, I like it, but those mails take off my desire to buy something (generally because I've already all options from another developers).

There was a larger ad on their site with a creepy guy to the left. I found 2 Reddit posts taking about it; some people saying it was funny, others creepy. Apparently the mutant kids were intentional — to grab your attention I would guess. If it does its job in increasing sales then they one could say the ends justifies the means. However, personally the whole AI topic is becoming a bit taboo as far as creative professionals (and those with ambitions to get into the creative industries) are concerned. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to go in that direction, even if it’s tongue in cheek. Not everyone is going to chuckle (I found that image more repulsive than humorous). Many find the march of AI content creation is a real threat to their livelihoods. It’s already impacting the visual arts and writers are also under threat. Composers are next. That’s not a jolly, happy or comical place to be. More nightmarish which fits right in to this terrifying ad campaign.

I don't like it when companies use children in ad campaigns at all. It's exploitation, what do the kids get out of it? That alone is cringe to me.

As it has turned out, UA and IK makes Waves look rather good. I got a bunch of Waves plugs during the holidays, and they are rather good and useful.

Not liking the amount of ads they are sending, with the same discount under different formulas. It's a shame, since I like their products.

The two twins campaign is not all that bad: all considered, they remember the twins in Shining, the movie…

Honestly, I think the only UAD plugin I'd really like to have is the Lexicon 480L, although it costs a small fortune and I don't know if it's any better than the 480L IRs I already have, or the TUKAN knockoff I've used in Reaper.
