MY SETUP:
DAW: Cakewalk
Audio Interface: Behringer U-Phoria UMC22
Driver: WASAPI Exclusive
Buffer size: 512
PC: Acer ConceptD 300, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz, 32GB RAM, windows 11.
Please note: I have no option to upgrade the sound card with this PC. Also, ASIO drivers do not function well with Cakewalk (often I get no sound using it).
I'm fairly new to using a DAW and I would like some advice on eliminating crackles and distortion with high frequencies through my headphones (AKG K240 Mk II), please.
I also notice that the audio interface begins to distort at about 75% volume. I have Rokit 5 monitors which do not seem to have the distortion problems heard in the headphones, but I can't be certain.
Would a change of audio interface and/or headphones make a difference? I'm on a tight budget, but advice on how to improve it and/or recommendations for an AI upgrade would be welcome.
Thanks for any advice.
