Every year I have the same problem with my son's Sibelius accounts.
We have 2 perpetual licences as the rolling year system was costing too much so i went back to that a couple of years ago for fear of losing them when they (my sons) move on to new pastures as they get older ... and then I was thinking of just getting the updates when they offer a sale (or) every 2 years as lets face it for £80 per year for basically one update is chewing the grass a bit much when finances are on a budget.
Anyhow yet again I renew the 2 updates this year (Oct) and sit back hoping for an easy life then a new update appears ... great here is my £160 value for 2 updates for 2 macbooks .. so I download and update both my son's macbooks. Voila .... not so
One goes ok (or i think so) .. and i thought the other would as well as both have the ID and System ID in their system since years and we only change when they move to new macbooks (when they were at Uni) etc.
along come AVID Link and everything falls apart .. it checks and registers the wrong data most of the time and then u cant use the software as the licence fails. Why cant it just show what is on the macbook not what you have in your account and then confuse itself as to which licence you want to activate and register etc.
AVID then (when u eventually get a reply) want you to jump through so many hoops trying to sort out THEIR licence failings expecting us customers to be IT experts and to do this or do that and then if it fails then register offline (which also does not work)
